Happy Bastille Day!

Viva la France! Today is the day that our friends in France celebrate their country!

Bastille Day is the common name given to the “French National Day”, which is celebrated on the 14th of July each year. In France, it is formally called “la Fête nationale”!

On this day of celebration, I want to share three tasty reasons I love this country…for example, one of our favorite meals takes place in the Eiffel Tower, where you get amazing food AND an incredible view!

We have also had the chance to visit many other areas of France, like the gorgeous French Riviera:

Cannes is a magical place, and Alex and I also had the chance to take a cooking class with Patricia Wells, at her home in Vaison la Romaine, a small village in Provence…

We had the chance to cook food prepared in Patricia’s kitchen, and that included cooking on Julia Childs’ stove, which she gave to Patricia!

We also toured the Chateauneuf-du-Pape wine region – including small towns like Gigondas:

The people were great, the wine was amazing – it ws one of our favorite adventures ever – you can see what we cooked here:

The fact is, France is known for food and wine, and it’s some of the greatest cooking in the world:

We spent the holidays in Paris a couple of years ago, and managed to eat ten Michelin stars in seven days – food like this:
