French Riviera Soupe de Poisson + “Canneswiches” – Some Sunday Morning #Wanderlust…

Hello From The Top Of Cannes’ Red Carpet!

That’s me on the far left and my wife Alex on the far right, with her brother Derek and wife Cherie wedged in the middle. We are in Cannes France, home to the world’s most prestigious film festival!

The city has put up a facade of superstars behind us on the famed red carpet steps leading to the movie theater, and lines of people waited to get this same shot.

We were in Cannes France for a day this past summer, and it reminded me of just how much I love this place…the French Riviera lined with restaurants and classic hotels…

The promenade along the water is known as the “croisette”, where thousands stroll all day long…

The Croisette At Night!

The day never ends here as the beach restaurants become late night parties as well.

The Croisette is lined with beach restaurants, where you can sample some of the Mediterranean’s finest seafood:

And of course, they like to party here too…I shot this footage just two months ago as I wandered past a beach club:

The Croisette is also lined with a number of legendary Hotels, like the famed Carlton Hotel:

And across from the Carlton Hotel sits their legendary beach restaurant. As you sit and enjoy your food, you can look out at the Carlton dock and the sea beyond:

Speaking of food, we love to eat the famous “soupe de poisson”…

I shared the food of Cannes on my food blog “BiteEatRepeat.com” and you can see it all here:

I have posted about Cannes before, specifically my experiences attending the Cannes Film Festival…here is one of those stories that provides some background on this prestigious event:

Cannes France boats

As you can see, Cannes has a beautiful harbor that is home to many boats – sailboats, yachts, boats of all shapes and sizes – all to take advantage of the Mediterranean sea:

Every year for two weeks, Cannes is home to the world’s most prestigious film festival – here is one of my stories about this incredible event – the night I met Monoco’s Prince Albert:

If you can’t make the film festival, you can still come to the south of France to experience this incredible town!

If you like these stories, why not sign up to receive emails whenever I post? It’s easy to do, I do NOT collect any information about you at all, there are absolutely NO ads of any kind, just stories about movies, music, books, food, travel and pop culture…

  3. I remember visiting Cannes (and Nice) in my teens, and loving both towns. The trouble was that everything was so expensive, we ran out of money VERY quickly! 😊

    Best wishes, Pete.
