The Eiffel Tower’s Incredible Olympic Light Show! Here’s Video! Celebrating The Olympics Games With The Most DECADENT Potato Puree In Paris!

Welcome To The Summer Olympic Games In Paris!

As you can see, the Eiffel Tower is aglow with the 2024 Summer Olympic Games…my wife Alex and I were there leading up to the opening night spectacular and I wanted to share some incredible video she captured close up!

The river Seine is lined with seating as the city hosts the Summer Olympic Games…and if you didn’t get to see the opening ceremony, the Eiffel Tower put on quite a spectacular light show!

Check out this video my wife Alex got from the TV Production Center across from the Tower!

It was a a truly spectacular night – and now the competition begins – so why not some food competition as well?

Welcome To The Potato Capital Of The World!

While everyone loves a great whipped potato puree, I don’t think anyone celebrates it with the delicious fervor of Paris! The dish above was set on our table the other night and it was a creamy delight!

I am eating my way through the city, and will share reviews and recipes in the weeks ahead – but it is the potato puree that has wowed me every single day – so why not make some yourself at home?

Check Out The World’s Most Decadent Mashed Potatoes!

The late Chef Joe Robuchon was known to make the world’s most decadent mashed potatoes, and here’s why!

Jöel Robuchon’s purée de pomme is known as the most famous mashed potatoes recipe in the world, according to Food 52. Despite his passing in 2018, Robuchon’s legacy lives on through the famous dish, “purée de pomme.”

There is no better way to end the year than by digging into these incredibly decadent potatoes!

Click here for the recipe and my step-by-step process for making the most decadent potato puree in history!

There is so much incredible food in Paris…like the “all pig all the time” restaurant!

This is an incredible pigs trotter at a restaurant that loves pigs – check out “Au Pied de Cochon” here!

  1. I thoroughly enjoyed the parts of the opening ceremony that I managed to watch, it certainly was very creative and reflective of France. Amazing!

    • Sadly in the US, we are so polarized it was immediately attacked for something it didn’t even do – we don’t all love the same art but the freedom to have artistic expression is what any free country should have.

  5. I watched the show but I think London 2012 was better. Maybe I’m biased…

And that woman who sang Imagine was dreadful!

  7. The French got a lot of criticism here for the opening ceremony, mainly because of the use of drag acts. I didn’t watch it, and as I don’t care about the Olympics, I didn’t really mind what their opening ceremony was like.

    Best wishes, Pete.

  9. We watched it all on TV. Spectacular show, but such a shame about the pouring rain though.
