“Seoul” Food! Bacon-Wrapped Hot Dogs and More Food Adventures Abroad!

Who’s Up For A Bacon-Wrapped Hot Dog?

I was!

It presented itself to me in Seoul South Korea, when I was filming a TV special there…and I learned that the streets of Seoul were filled with food carts and fish markets that had everything from bacon-wrapped hot dogs to dried fish on a stick!

From a woman selling salted dried fish tied together with yellow rope to crinkle-cut French fry hot dogs, it was an incredible adventure…here is a video that shows some of what I smelled and tasted:

I am going to try and share more stories of fun travel adventures that have a food connection – which is what I shared on my food blog…click here to see that story:

As fun as Seoul was, especially with that impromptu on-street performance I showed you, we saw something very similar in Tokyo as well:

Yes, we stumbled upon a rehearsal session for the TV show “Tokyo Pop Idol” – check it out:

As you could see, that one tech guy wasn’t that happy to see me filming – but it was cool to see – click here and see why this show is such a massive success:

Tokyo was an incredible adventure as well, especially sitting in the iconic “Lost In Translation” bar:

Park Hyatt New York Bar Tokyo

This was the scene where Bill Murray talks to Scarlet Johansson in “Lost In Translation” – see more of the hotel – and a live performance by the bar band by clicking on my story here::

That was just one of many great musical adventures to tokyo, like our night singing along with a golden gai bartender/musician:

Golden Gai bar music

My son Jeff found this great bar, and the bartender/musician sang an original song for us!

See more of that fun night here – including that performance and more of our wild night here:
