Bite Down On Your Presidential Choice!
We all face a serious choice on Nov. 8 – which of these “Presidential Burgers” tastes best?
This is my favorite election story – a Japanese restaurant chain is offering customers a chance to weigh in on the U.S. election in the best way possible – with their tastebuds!
J.S. Burgers is offering two burgers – one for each main candidate – and thanks to the great reporters at RocketNews24.com, here is what they are offering:

The “Mr. Burger” For Donald Trump!
Here is how RocketNews24.com describes it:
“The Mr. Burger, priced at 1,490 yen (US$14.28), tips its hat to the New York hometown of the male contender, styled in the image of one of the city’s specialties, the classic Reuben sandwich. In between two dark, masculine-style buns, this special offering comes filled with pastrami beef, an aged beef patty, classic coleslaw and homemade Russian dressing.”
Ha! “Russian” dressing!
Now, onto his challenger:

The “Mrs. Burger For Hillary Clinton!
The Mrs. Burger (1,490 yen) takes its inspiration from the female candidate’s hometown of Chicago, containing all the elements you’d find in a Chicago Dog, with a poppy-seed bun, fresh vegetables and pickles, a sausage, and an aged beef patty. Brought together with the all-important yellow mustard and celery salt, the combination of flavours is said to be a perfect representation of the slogan, “Stronger Together”.
Finally, in the spirit of a good-natured competition, J.S. Burger offers this:

The “Halloween Shake Hands”!
Here is how they describe this mammoth shake:
“The Halloween Shake Hands has a bright orange hue and contains a mash-up of ingredients like pumpkin and Chicago-style caramel and cheddar cheese popcorn. With all the thick texture and cheesy aroma of a New York cheesecake, the unusual shake can be purchased with a cocoa bun topping and a side of salty fries for 1,380 yen. The shake on its own retails for 1,280 yen.”

This isn’t the first burger-based election story – remember the “Trump Burger?”

Last summer, a UK-based restaurant offered this ode to the Donald – see the recipe here:

Once the election is over, we can get back to eating burgers that don’t have any political taste – and wash it down with this:

Obama Beer!
Yes, there is an official Presidential beer – read the recipe here!

Don’t forget, if you are in Japan, get out and vote with your mouth!

I don’t know mate, fittingly they both look a little too greasy for me. 🙂

HA! As Monty Python once said about wine: “that’s not a wine for drinking. That’s a wine for putting down and walking away!”

Haha. I like that.

Those burgers look tasty, but they are expensive too! I would be pushed to choose, but might prefer the pastrami in the Trump burger. That doesn’t count as an electoral preference though…
Best wishes, Pete.

Pete, I agree with you on the burger…I thought the “russian dressing” on the side was clever, shocking in the US that a Presidential candidate uses stolen material, probably hacked by a foreign government, in order to run for President, but that’s where we are I guess
