Did You Know That Domino’s Had A “Fish ‘n’ Chips” Pizza? I Found A “Kit Kat Pizza” Too! Wild Food Mashups Continue…

Would You Eat A Slice Of “Fish And Chips” Pizza?

As some of you know, I love a good “food mashup”…and I share them because why not? That, said, what to make of this?

Yes, that is a pizza covered with fish and chips!

It’s real, and SoraNews24 had the story when this showed up on a menu! As they report – this is from Domino’s Pizza Japan:

“Its latest innovation is a fish and chips pizza. Called the Sakusaku (“Crispy”) Fish and Chips, it’s topped with slices of fried fish and potato, both tomato and tartar sauces, and sprinkled with basil. Perhaps the most unusual ingredient is lemon, in that instead of squeezing some citrus juice on the pizza like you might a basket of pub fish and chips, there are actual lemon slices, peels included, used as a topping!”

As you can imagine, the initial reaction was, shall we say, polarizing?

In fact, some have gone online to call it:

“designed to insult both England and Italy at the same time!”

Full disclosure: I love fish’n’chips, so I would try this, even though there is absolutely NO REASON for it to exist!

Of course, those intrepid Reporters at SoraNews24 had the story – including the offended Londoner they apologized to on social media – with a very tempting offer as well, and you can see more of their reporting here:

Wacky pizzas are nothing new to me:

That’s right, it’s a “Kit Kat Pizza!”

Now, not ALL Pizza needs to be mashed up…sometimes, a pizza can become a legend for just being the best in class:

Inn this case, 50+ years of classic “deep dish” Chicago pizzas have made Lou Malnati’s a legend…see how they do it and bite into one here:

As I said, food mashups don’t bother me – but they do sometimes go “a bridge too far” – as in this case:

Behold My “Pizza Burger!”

You see, I had leftover pizza, so I made it the bun for a burger….here’s how I did it and more importantly, how it tasted:

Hi John, I’m not sure about fish and chips with cheese and tomato. I think I would prefer the two items separately.

I’ll try just about anything at least once, but the notion of mixing two incredible tastes (pizza and chocolate) doesn’t sound too appealing. I should experiment for, ahem, scientific purposes.😊

  3. I don’t think I’d try these! One I did used to enjoy was at a pizza restaurant near where I once worked. They did a Full English Breakfast pizza: usual pizza base, loaded with bacon, fried eggs (2), sausage, hash browns, mushrooms, sliced tomato, baked beans. Heaven!

  4. And why not? If I can make a Mexican pizza and a Cranberry pizza, why not anything else your fantasy generates?

  5. Um, no! Sounds like the best way to ruin both fish and chips and pizza! 😉

  6. I’d try both of them, just for the kicks

  7. I’m going to have to say “No thanks” to both fish and chip and KitKat pizzas, John. We have to draw the line at what can be put on a pizza, and my line is drawn under those two for sure! 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.
