Time To Wear Your Favorite Food!

As you all may know, I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT JAPAN. I love their energetic embrace of all aspects of life, pop culture and fashion – and I love that they love plastic food:

Alex and Jeff plastic food shopping

When my wife Alex and I were in Tokyo, we stopped by one of the more famous “plastic food” stores, where you can shop for all sorts of great plastic food!

Well, guess what? There’s now a new trend where girls are taking that food and turning it into fashion headwear – like this:

Behold The “Bacon Bow!”

You read it right:

BEHOLD THE BACON BOW!

It’s a plasticized piece of bacon turned into a hairpiece!

Yes, enterprising young women in Japan are taking this plastic food and turning it into fashionable head gear!

It has become an ongoing fashion trend, resulting in such unique items as curry with rice designed as a necklace!

You all know that I personally LOVE plastic food:

Welcome To Kappabashi Street!

When Alex and I were in Tokyo, we wandered down this unique shopping area in Tokyo, where restaurants get their plastic food:

You see, most restaurants set up plastic food outside their doors to let customers know what type of food they serve, and it sits downstairs for restaurants that are high up in the city’s skyscrapers:

If you click here, you can see more examples of the greatest plasticized food of all time, and who doesn’t want THAT?

My fascination with plasticized food led me to hire a Japanese company to design an iPhone cover for me:

Bacon and eggs are just the beginning to what you can wrap your phone in – click here to see it all!

And you can get “very comfortable” in food as well:

Yes, it’s a wearable piece of Tempura Shrimp and why not?

  1. This is very catchy! I’ll pass on the fried egg, but I’d wear the bacon bow.

  2. Right after I looked at the first pic and the blog title, I already know you’re gonna tell us about Kappabashi😂 I heard they also hold some class to make food samples on your own, so try it next time👍💕

  3. I would eat almost anything you feature here, but as for wearing it, I might draw the line. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  4. Ha! Sure I’d wear them…if I was a young girl looking to stand out…or working in a restaurant. Ha! That necklace looks like vomit though. Rather unappetizing. The iPhone cover is fun, but not my style.

  5. I’m endlessly amused by plastic food and other things made to resemble food, but I don’t
    own any. Yet.
