What Makes A Food A “New York Bite?”
New York has the food of the world: you can find every single flavor in this city – from anywhere in the world…but what’s a true “New York Bite?”
Well, hot dogs to be sure – especially from one of New York’s cheapest and most iconic restaurants!

Gray’s Papaya is a terrific example of “New York Bites”: a tiny “hole in the wall” that is always crowded with people wanting this:
Yes, it’s delicious, iconic and the tastiest deal in town! You get two hot dogs plus a papaya drink for $7! See my full review here!
New York is also a pizza town to be sure – check out this incredibly unique array on offer at Mama’s Too:
But wait until you see their “Angry Nonna” pizza! Here’s my delicious review!
Yes, it was as good as it looked!
So what’s the best? So many vying for the honor, but one is a New York legend:

Famous Original Ray’s is legendary – but which one is really the original?
See the story here!
Sometimes, iconic New York food is based not only on what you are eating, but WHO made it, like this guy!
Yep, that’s the “Soup Nazi” from the TV series “Seinfeld”, and you can actually buy soup based on his character!

They have memorabilia to buy, plus really great soup too!
See my review here!
Some classic New York bites are new to the scene, but they know how to make a splashy entrance.
Some of New York’s best food is also its most outrageous – check this out:
Yes, that’s a steak topped with a cheese-stuffed “Raviolo!”
Enter the wacky world of “Bad Roman” here!
Because New York is a melting pot, you can find food from around the world at one of the 8,000 food carts – or in one of the many street food malls!
Check out my “black monster sauce” meal here!
Our exploration of New York’s great restaurants is just beginning but we’ve already had some incredible adventures:

This one was truly “crab-tacular!”

Yes it’s worth repeating wha you said: New York is a city for ALL price points! You can get a slice of pizza for $1.50 if you want, and it will be just fine!

Although I have never been to NYC, I have come to the conclusion that you could eat out every day of the year, and never have to go to the same place twice.
Best wishes, Pete.
