I Love Wet Food.
There, I said it. That’s why, when I see a story titled “The Wet Sliders Of Istanbul”, I am immediately hooked.
Add this incredible photo and I am salivating!
The “Islak” Sliders Of Istanbul!
“Islak” means “wet” in Turkish, and I came across this fascinating story of a local Istanbul burger joint that soaks the burger and bun with a garlicky tomato sauce!
As I said, I love wet food. I love garlic and tomato sauce as well, so this is heaven for me!
There is no better way to celebrate “National Burger Month” in May than to try some new, unique ways to enjoy a burger!
You can see the whole, delicious story here:
As some of you know, I have covered “wet” food in many ways:
These Japanese “wet burgers” sound delicious to me, and if you want to see where they are doing them, click on my story here:
I also shared these delicious cheesesteak sandwiches from a legendary Los Angeles restaurant, and they also come to you as “wet” as you want:
Philippe’s is legendary, and I ate a deliciously “wet” one – you can see it all here:

Yes! And you make the call on just how wet to go – but I love a French dip fully soaked! Thanks for commenting!

I’m not into the texture of wet bread, but I’ll try anything that has “garlicky tomato sauce”!

I’m with Robbie. Not a fan of wet bread. I would prefer my bun less ‘soaked’, I reckon. But I would still eat one to try it! š
Best wishes, Pete.

The great thing here Pete is you control the amount you dip…in this case they “encased” but you don’t need to!

The idea of a ‘wet’ burger is a little icky for me, John. It is just the description of ‘wet’. It looks nice enough.

You can dip as much as you want or not, but the flavor of the garlicky tomato sauce is really terrific! Thanks for commenting!
