Well, Hello There!
I made friends with this guy. A Giraffe….a very TALL Giraffe!

This guy could eat the fronds on the top of that palm tree!
And if he wants, he can bring a friend as well!

Time To Visit A “Tower” Of Giraffes!
Yes, a herd of Giraffes is called a “tower” – because they tower over every other animal…they also can eat the tops of trees, so here is a “tower” of Giraffes doing just that in the Okavango Delta of Botswana:
This was quite the discovery: our terrific Wilderness Qorokwe Guide tracked a “tower” of Giraffes and we watched them graze – now, watch what I happened upon – note, the video shows a male Giraffe “tasting” the female’s urine:
That’s a mating ritual: the male is tasting the urine to see if the female is ovulating…the things you learn on a safari!
We loved seeing Giraffes everywhere in Africa: like this late night grazer at the Singita Boulders lodge:
They are graceful, serene and mostly oblivious to us – if they sense we are too close, they just move away and go back to eating – here’s what it’s like to track them from the Jeep:
Now, if you want some really fascinating insights on the mating rituals of these Giraffe, click here!
Of course, we found so many other packs of animals as well, like this pride of Lions:

See more videos of these magnificent creatures here:
I’ve been sharing the food we enjoyed on safari as well – those stories live on my “all food all the time” blog – here’s the latest safari culinary adventure I shared:
Thanks for going along on our incredible safari adventure!
