The Serenity Of Malibu Waves…A Peaceful Oasis Destroyed…How You Can Help…

As this photo shows, countless houses along Malibu and Pacific Coast Highway have been destroyed by the catastrophic fires that have burned in Los Angeles Country for the past week…

While my wife Alex and I were safe from the fire, this was our view as the sky darkened with smoke…even though the heroic first responders and fire fighters have gotten a handle on the fires, there will be much rebuilding to come for years…

As you can see, the houses that sat on the ocean along Pacific Coast Highway are mostly destroyed…it was a place we rented as a getaway, to sit and enjoy the ocean out our front door:

We’d sit and watch the Dolphins go by – as well as a motorized wind surfer gliding by as well – take a look:

The idyllic sunsets were amazing, and we’d see residents walking their dogs along the beach all day and night – here is a look:

Sadly, the house we rented for years is gone: burnt to the ground as the flames jumped across the PCH and ravaged the community…even with the homes literally on the ocean…here are some of the waves we experienced:

I wanted to remember our time there with a look at the Malibu Waves…here is a video I put together:

The visionary Chef José Andrés is in Los Angles right now, as his World Central Kitchen has mobilized to feed those who have been displaced as well as firefighters and first responders.

You can click on my story about their efforts and find a link to help the cause as I did – for the tens of thousands facing uncertainty and tragedy, World Central Kitchen is delivering once again on their promise to help those anywhere in the world who need sustenance….here is that story:

The area was filled with wildlife, and we support all efforts to help those impacted…here are some of our other adventures in this magical part of our world:

Thank you for reading and if you want to spread the word, please share on social media…thanks

  7. So sad to see the devastation, but there are many of us who want to help. Thanks for sharing ways that we can help with people who you know are there to really help the people. Sadly, in this day and age, we can’t always be sure. I appreciate you sharing with us people who really are making a difference.

    • Sadly, there are already scams underway in LA – which is why, while it sounds dull, the Red Cross is honest and utilizes the money across multiple areas as needed…and World Central Kitchen works on one thing only: getting food to people who lack access to it. Thank for the comment!

  8. What a gorgeous place you were able to enjoy for years! Tragic to see so many neighborhoods leveled. Hopefully, the fires will be completely out soon so rebuilding can begin.
