Remember the classic Sylvester Stallone movie where he literally hangs off the side of the earth? Well, what if he was eating some Pork Fried Rice at the same time! It could make it a bit difficult to reach for the soy sauce!
Well, if cliffhanging just isn’t exciting – or dangerous – enough, how about a meal at THIS RESTAURANT:
This is the cliff-side Fangweng Restaurant, located In China’s Yichang City. And thanks to the great investigative reports at RocketNews24, there are pics to share of this cliffside food palace!
Now, my first question is: how do you get in? But get inside you must, because look at what a gorgeous view awaits:
This restaurant was built ON THE SIDE OF A CLIFF – literally wrapped around a cliffhanging wall of rock in China – a terrifying idea for a nice dinner – but in fact, most of the restaurant is located inside a cave on the cliff wall – and it looks beautiful:
But it’s when you step outside that you get a sense that this is something special – and especially terrifying…first, talk a stroll along the walkway built along the cliff itself:
Waiter, More Sake!
And after sitting down, you can relax, have a drink and order a nice dish, and that is when you get the insider’s view of this incredible structure:
You have to go back outside to really understand what you are doing inside…I mean, this is an amazing looking structure:
It’s just one way to dine wild…here is another I posted before – and I am fine telling you I will never try this!:
That’s right, you can hang out – LITERALLY – with a great Chef as you dangle above the city…it’s just one of the amazing dining experiences you can check out by clicking here:
“Somebody Feed Phil” had a great idea for drinks – with this view!
I mean, how can you not want a Singapore Sling here?
Check out the world’s longest infinity pool here!
I am fine with expansive views that overlook a city – like this one in Athens:
This is the very top of Athens Greece, and you can see all the way to the Saronic Gulf, part of the Mediterranean Sea!
Yes, you get to see the Acropolis and the Parthenon down below. What makes it even more fun is this is how you get to the top:
I will take a funicular to the top of any town I can!
Click here to see more of the view and the incredible food as well!

I do not know if they still exist, but one of the first things that impressed me as a kid about the Chicago suburbs was the restaurants built atop an overpass. I thought it was great fun when we drove under the diners.

I’d like to checkout at least one of these places just to see how long I last there without my vertigo kicking in.

Yes, it takes a bit of focus not to be intimidated by the height and lack of much standing room! Thanks for commenting!

Not sure about dangling from a crane, but happy to join you for a meal at the other places, John.
Best wishes, Pete.

Pretty amazing restaurants, but just watch your step. It’s a long way down. (Sorry a bad joke, but I had to go there.)

These are cool. There’s a great view and restaurant on top of the funicular in Bergen, Norway.
