“Restaurant Under” – The Underwater Restaurant! “What The Friday” Dives Into Norway’s Submerged Food Paradise!

Ready To Dine Under Water? “What The Friday?”

Thanks to my friend Deb Jenkins for sharing this with me – a cool new restaurant that will be serving food 18 feet underwater!

It’s located in the icy sea on the coast of southern Norway.

According to Good Morning America:

Restaurant Under, as it’s called, opens Thursday. It has a set menu that will rotate seasonally, but expect to see lots of fish and shellfish, plus food from the beach outside like sea arrow grass, sea rocket and salty sea kale. The local area is known for wild mushrooms and berries, and those will be used on the menu as well, according to the restaurant’s web site.

Here’s their story, along with a great video, at GMA:

Well, I’m all for this! In fact, I have shared with all of you a number of unique ways I’d like to dine:

What, you wouldn’t like a meal this way? That’s the whole point of “What The Friday”, a chance to share wild and wacky things in our world that I love, like a restaurant in China that serves their food like this:

Don’t blame me, I’m just reporting the facts! You can see more about the wildest restaurants in the world by clicking on my story here:

  1. This would give me the creeps, John. Somehow that scene in Jaws where the shark keeps banging into the glass walls of the underwater tunnel comes to mind.

  2. I can honestly say I heard it here first…The restaurant I would love to dine in and Fleabag have just downloaded episode 1 series 1…Thanks, everyone and John 🙂 x

  4. Nope, I don’t fancy that at all. I’d not be able to enjoy my food for worrying about a leak in the roof!

  5. John, that underwater restaurant got its own feature on the BBC Travel Show recently. It looks really cool!
    Best wishes, Pete.
