Want To Eat A Meal Naked?
Doesn’t that look like fun? Take all your clothes off and have a nice meal! Well, better disrobe fast, because the Paris restaurant that serves naked customers is closing!

The terrific website The Guardian reports:
Paris’s nudist restaurant O’naturel is to close its doors next month, just 15 months after it opened. “We want to make gastronomy work for nudity,” cofounder Stéphane Saada, a former insurance salesman, said in 2017. Instead, the website now states, “it is with great regret” that the time has come to pull the plug.
Contacted for comment, Saada and his twin brother and business partner, Mike, said there wasn’t much else to say: “We’re shutting down because we didn’t have enough clients. We would have preferred this adventure to go on for longer … We had a great start; now it’s best we close.”

As always, The Guardian has this covered – or “uncovered” as the case may be – see their story here:

Would you eat there? It’s funny of course, but would you REALLY take off all of your clothes in public and eat like this?

I wouldn’t, but I’ve posted many stories about great Paris restaurants, and unique ones like this as well:

This french Bistro in Paris actually utilizes a conveyor belt! Yes, you might like conveyor belt sushi, but what about french onion soup? See more about this wacky restaurant here:

Let me know if you would ever eat naked! Cheers!

I can understand how this would fail. I would never be able to choose what not to wear.

Nope and I can see why it closed. Who could eat with so much distraction?

Nope. Couldn’t go to a restaurant and eat naked. Would sit at a table with strangers, try different food, take recommendations. but nope not naked.

EXACTLY. This is why it was doomed to fail: it was a stunt that wasn’t sustainable in any way…we recently ate at a restaurant that only has two “communal” tables and it was fun!

Gross. All I can think of are the seats.

Indeed! It’s always interesting to see stunts like this – they rarely last and for good reason!

I actually posted a picture of a newspaper snippet on this story just yesterday…whatsapped to me by my mum due to the phrase about not being able to get enough “bums on seats”! (Plus I am frequently in Paris and she was wondering if I’d heard of the place…I hadn’t). I wouldn’t eat there but I applaud the owners for trying something different, however wacky! 😉

I was in Paris twice in the last year and never heard of it either…wouldn’t have gone but would’ve gone by!

To answer your question, John..A resounding no I wouldn’t, it would put everyone off their food for starters, It was never going to be a long term venture…It might have been better if they had theme nights and that was one of them…As always an interesting post, John 🙂

Maybe they should aim for somewhere tropical, might get more customers? It’s too cold in Paris for naked dinning!

Maybe it got too cold over winter, they should have turned the heating up!x

At my age, and with my body, naked eating out is never going to happen, John.
Besides, I would find the female diners far too distracting. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

Pete, it was a wacky idea and I’m not surprised at all that it wouldn’t take off!
