Stay In Tokyo For $770 A Month?!?! Yes! If You Can Live “In A Capsule!”

Welcome To Tokyo’s Shinjuku District!

Yes, one of Tokyo’s most amazing neighborhoods is filled with neon and incredible nightlife – one of the most entertaining places to visit – but it’s expensive as well!

A Month Of Tokyo For $772!

What if I showed you how to stay in Tokyo’s amazing Shinjuku district for an entire month for just over $25 a night!

Impossible? Not at all! Thanks to the great folks at SoraNews24, there is an amazingly affordable hotel waiting for you!

It’s only $772 for an entire month – that’s the price for a single night at one of Tokyo’s best hotels!

Time To Check-In To The Hatagoya!

The Hatagoya Capsule Hotel is just a few minutes walk from the heart of Shinjuku – it’s nondescript from outside, but inside it has everything you need to enjoy a lengthy stay in Tokyo, from an area with vending machines for food and washing machines for your clothes, to a nice communal bathroom…

Yes, you will share a bathroom with other guests – oh, and only men are allowed here – there are other hotels like this for women…

What About My Bedroom?

Now we get to the nitty gritty – you know what a capsule hotel is, right? If you are expecting a room with a chair, bed, table and more, you are in the wrong place….what does The Hatagoya offer? Something a bit more “compact”.

It’s a capsule to sleep in!

This is the hallway to your “Room”, which is actually a numbered capsule along the wall, with small ladders if you are in an “upper room” – if you’ve never seen a “capsule hotel room”, this is how you will be sleeping for the month:

OK, let it soak in – you crawl into your small “bedroom”, where there is a small TV and a plug for your phone, and you sleep. You store your stuff in lockers in the next room – but hey, you want a cheap way to live in Tokyo? Nothing beats this!

Thanks for the SoraNews24 people for this great find, see more pictures here:

  1. I’m curious… where does one keep one’s valuables while staying in this kind of hotel?

  2. Communal bathroom is a bit of a pain but very tempting. Definitely would have done it when I was single.
