Happy New Year! Here’s A Rare “Moonbow” + The World’s Longest Continuing Flow Of Water! The Entire Kalahari Bushmen Walk Too!

Getting Soaked At Victoria Falls!

Two days after wrapping up a truly horrible 2025 here in the United States, I want to first say that the vast majority of Americans do NOT support the current administration’s betrayal of our longtime allies.

I wanted to get that out of the way and start the new year on a more upbeat note, so let’s head to Victoria Falls!

Here we are: getting drenched on a clear winter’s day at Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Just another day on the greatest adventure of our lives: an African safari!

Here’s a video of one of the stops on the hike, which takes us right up to the Falls, which are behind us in Zambia, while we are hiking on the other side in Zimbabwe:

I shared the entire story of our Victoria Falls hike: “The Smoke That Thunders” is what it is called: Victoria Falls is the largest continuous curtain of falling water in the world by vertical area!

It also has this – watch the video to see a double rainbow, and then I pan to the Falls, which are so incredibly close to us!

This is also a rare “moon bow” which you can also see at night!

The Victoria Falls “Moonbow” (lunar rainbow) is a rare phenomenon best viewed during the full moon phase when the moon is brightest and there is sufficient spray from the falls. The optimal time to see a strong moonbow is during the high-water season, typically from April to July, when the falls are at peak flow!

I shot every aspect of our walking tour, and we did get drenched by the power of the water coming out of the gorge!

If you want to see the entire 8-minute video of our adventure, click here and enjoy!

Here is the original story I posted with more pictures and lots of tour information as well:

There are so many incredible safari adventures to share, like when we had Botswana Kalahari Desert Bushmen do this!

We made fire, plus Alex drank buried root juice and more! See it all by clicking on my story here:

For those who need even more, here is the entire 14 minute video of our incredible walking tour of the Kalahari:

I hope you enjoy these stories, because I have more stories to share this year, like some incredible wild baby Rhino sightings in the Kalahari desert:

Before we saw the baby Rhino, we had to drive through the Kalahari desert, and on the road, we got stopped by these two:

It was all part of an incredible morning of wild animals….that story soon! I’ve also got this pair of Giraffes who had a story to tell:

I will show you which way they decided to go soon!

At one camp in Botswana, we discovered that the Okavango Delta marshes were a great hangout for Hipposl!

Yep, this Hippo was excited to see us! Click here for our cool Hippo encounter:

I’ve got Rhinos, very thirty birds and playful Monkeys still to come as well – happy new year to you all and here’s to a better 2026 for all o fun!

Over at my food site “Bite! Eat! Repeat!”, I shared my five favorite dishes of 2025, including this one:

You can see all of them here, along with recipes!
