Did Someone Misplace An Iceberg?
Imagine the people who woke up to this out front? I love stories like this. I am a fan of travel, and imagine waking up one morning to see an iceberg outside your house!

I follow the terrific website “Atlas Obscura” , who not only published this “must have” book but sends me great updates, and recently I got this one, about “Iceberg Alley!”
It’s just another of their terrific insights about the world we live in! As Atlas Obscura noted:
“Iceberg Alley refers to a stretch of the Atlantic Ocean that goes from the Arctic to Newfoundland.”
“Most icebergs drifting through Iceberg Alley come from the coast of Greenland, when in the spring and summer, chunks of glaciers break off and north-south currents take them along the Baffin Bay and into the Labrador Sea, where they eventually melt.”

Can you imagine? Wha a stunning view! Bravo to Atlas Obscura for these terrific stories – oh, and now they do food too!

Have you heard about these “threads of God?” Well I did because of their new book “Gastro Obscura” – here’s why these threads of pasta are in danger of becoming a lost art!

Both books are riveting, and take me on an ongoing exploration of our planet through food and travel! And since we were talking Newfoundland, let’s go back for a bite to eat!

Now that’s a good catch! It’s from “Theater Of Fish” – a fascinating look at Newfoundland and Labrador, and the importance of their “theater of fish!”
See more here!
I have shared other stories about these massive icebergs, and here’s where you can find them!
One last story to share: I discovered there is such a thing as a “bread sandwich” thanks to Gastro Obscura and now I’m obsessed!
See the recipe here!
Bravo once again to Gastro Obscura!

Pete, it sure is! It inspires us to travel more, and seek out the unusual…we don’t go to a beach and get sun, we explore! Cheers!
