Behold The Smashburger!
It’s simple and delicious. You “smash” hamburger patties on a hot plate, cover with shaved onion, turn them over and add cheese, while the onions caramelize underneath…and I made them at home!

Oh, and did I mention the pickles and special sauce? Yum!
Some of us are ending summer now, and that means big Labor Day parties and BBQ’s today…so why not make a classic Smash burger to celebrate – like this?
I made them and shared the process and the recipe – see it here:
And you need a fresh summer salad to go along with it – so why not do this?

I took advantage of a great farmer’s market in New York and loaded up on fresh tomatoes and corn on the cob – which comes together for this salad:

This is a really fresh and fun salad to share on a special day – and it’s very colorful as well….and here is another way to celebrate tomato season – roll it!
This chilled Gazpacho recipe is so easy and delicious, and a perfect dish for a hot end of summer day…see the recipe here:
And did you see this healthy recipe I shared for “longevity stew?”

The Greeks live a long life and this stew is one reason! See the recipe here!
Now, while these stories live on my food blog, I also share food here – especially when it comes as part of a safari tradition like this – cue the music and dancing!
It was all part of a traditional “Boma” celebration – see it here!
