Make Your Own Octopus Balls – With Cup Noodles!

In the mood for some “Takoyaki” but don’t know how to make them yourself? Well, all I can say is this: “What The Friday!?!?!?!”

Yes, we are going to make some Octopus Balls – known as “Takoyaki” – at home using Cup Noodles!

First and foremost, they are known officially as “Cup Noodles”, even though we called them “Cup ‘O Noodles” in the US…

But these are “Cup Noodles” now, and the company has a unique new way to use their product – including the iconic Takoyaki Octopus Ball!

“Cup Noodle maker Nissin itself created the recipe for “Cup Noodle Takoyaki,” combining its famous instant ramen line with the signature snack of Osaka: takoyaki octopus dumplings.

So how do you make Cup Noodle Takoyaki? Surprisingly, you don’t need any octopus, since this is really more about the spirit of takoyaki, and the list of ingredients is kept short and simple.”

Yes, you can make these dumpling at home with just these few ingredients – and just add some fresh Octopus if you so desire:

● 1 Cup Noodle pack
● 1 egg
● Water (200 milliliters [6.8 ounces])
● Flour (3 tablespoons)
● Cooking oil (a dash)

What’s cool is that you use the dried cup noodles as the base for a delicious “Takoyaki” ball!

The recipe is simple – you take your dried cup noodles and crush them up, then add them to the other ingredients and form into balls…there are professional Takoyaki cookers in Japan, which look like this:

You can also deep fry them or even cook them in a pan after shaping into balls.
