Who’s Up For a Travel Challenge – With Some “Rock Faces?”
Not talking about ours of course, but the incredible “rock faces” you can see at Joshua Tree National Park – this incredible park in California lands on day #6 of my ten day social media challenge. As many of you know, I was nominated to participate in this great “TravelChallenge – and which I am doing gladly!
Here is a shot to get today’s participation underway:
Details On This “Travel Challenge!”
The above photo shows just how inspiring our world can be – and how exhilarating it can be to explore it.
Now, about the “travel challenge”: it’s all about visual images – so the challenge is to post a favorite travel picture for 10 days without explanation and nominate someone else to participate.
I love traveling, and I love taking pictures, so this was an easy one for me…the above photo shows life amid a desert terrain at California’s Joshua Tree National park…now, how about this “rock face?”
Yes, that’s “Skull Rock” – named for good reason! It’s jus tone of many incredible rock formations scatter throughout this unique park…like this one:
And what about that Eagle’s nest – built on a small tree branch jutting out of the rocks?
You see, there are rocks hanging around everywhere!
Here’s a view:

Rock formations fascinate me, John I am always amazed by how they form images of things we recognise almost as if they were planned…Thank you for the mention, John 🙂 x

This skull rock is incredible, John. We used to create a pirate island with a skull rock out of sand when the boys were younger. It was great fun.

Nice photos, John! We didn’t make it to Joshua Tree as we were in that area during the government shut down two years ago. Would love to go back and visit!

It was really magical, and we went when it was only in the low 80’s…during the summer months you can’t really enjoy it – too hot! Thanks for commenting, great hearing from you!

Pete, the west out here is so sprawled out – it seems to go on forever, and it’s really incredible…if you watch the opening scenes from “Planet Of The Apes”, it’s like you are on the set!
