It’s “National Cheeseburger Day” 2020!
It’s my favorite day of the year:
National Cheeseburger Day!
Why? Well, here’s one reason:
Need more proof?
OK, now THAT’S a burger!
You see why I love it? Because a Cheeseburger is a work of culinary art – and as an Artist, I can create it however I want!
And You Can Too!
My friend Chris sent me this chart, which gives directions on how to make the perfect Cheeseburger, and while I truly appreciate it, what you have is a Cheeseburger that anyone and everyone can make…today, I want to celebrate Cheeseburgers that break all the rules – let’s go!
The Incredible “Squeeze Inn” Burger!
I first saw this amazing burger on “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives”, and didn’t realize there was A “Squeeze Inn” located in Napa Valley, where I was going to be….so I ate one! Here is how they describe their food:
“Born out of our love of fine burgers and good music, The Squeeze Inn has become the exclusive bite spot in Northern California. After being introduced to a new way of the “Burger” Travis H fortunately would be in the right place at the right time, when he was introduced to “The Squeeze Inn”. He decided to make the move into flavorville as the proud new owner of “The Squeeze Inn” On that day the next generation of the squeeze was born.”
the secret to making it look like a delicious flying saucer? After cooking one side of the burger, they sprinkle it with shredded cheddar cheese, then put a few ice cubes on the hot grill and cover the whole thing with a lid! Minutes later, the cheese has carmelized!
This is a uniquely delicious treat, and if you want to find out what’s in the burger, click on my story here:
I understand that we are all living a #QuarantineLife right now, but even if you are stuck at home, you can bring the Cheeseburger magic home!
Making Your Shake Shack “Smokestack” At Home!
Some of you will know that I ordered Shake Shack’s delicious “Smokestack” and had them delivered at home…all the ingredients allowed me to make this!
The results are delicious – and here is the step-by-step recipe so you can make it yourself at home!
I was lucky enough to live in Chicago part-time for five years, and got to explore many of the city’s greatest restaurants – and cheeseburgers too!
Remember that “Chris” who gave me the Cheeseburger chart? Well, I dragged him to Big ‘n’ Littles, a great casual restaurant that serves the “Big Mack Daddy!”
Chicago’s “Big Mack Daddy!”
I love when someone takes an iconic burger and pays a delicious tribute, and that’s what Chris and I discovered.
Big’n’Little’s in Chicago turns out an amazing “homage” to the Big Mac, and it’s a masterful bite of cheeseburger greatness!
See the recipe here, along with a look at their deep-fried cheeseburger as well:
I grew up in Seattle, and nothing beat a “bag of Dick’s:”
this iconic hamburger stand serves basic cheeseburgers at a great price, and I LOVE THEM.
And I’m not the only one, because the “Lunchbox Laboratory” did an “homage” to Dick’s!
Seattle’s Brilliant “Lunchbox Laboratory!”
In my home town of Seattle, these “Burger Scientists” are always working on a great new burger, such as the “homage” to Seattle’s legendary Dick’s Drive-In and their “Dick’s Deluxe”:
There are so many great burgers to try at The Lunchbox Laboratory, and if you are in Seattle, then you have to go to the original “Dick’s Drive-In” as well!
See the best burgers from both restaurants by clicking on my story here:
Now, for those who think “bigger is better”:
OK, if I can get 15 or 20 of you to join me, we can go and try the WORLD’S LARGEST CHEESEBURGER!
And why not? If any of you bring your kids, we can get a picture like this:
Hilarious. So, what’s in a burger this big? Well, just click on my story to see how this massive burger is created, and more examples of the world’s biggest burgers!

If you aren’t quite full enough yet, how about dessert?
THE ICE CREAM CHEESEBURGER!!!!
I found this online a few years back!
This Ice Cream Cheeseburger is a burger with pickle, lettuce, tomato, bacon and cheese toppings is a slab of ice cream coated in cinnamon and cornflakes that has taken a dip in the deep fryer for 10 to 15 seconds. Let’s see it again…
Now that’s the way to end a meal!

I could live on cheeseburgers; and coincidentally not live very long I’m sure. Some have a sweet tooth~I have a meat tooth! The Ozark Cafe, Jasper, AR, creates that huge cheese ring around their burgers. I have to stop writing so I can finish my mushroom hamburger steak. 😆😋

Here in the Twin Cities the favorite is the Juicy Lucy. Looks like an ordinary hamburger until you bite into it and the melted cheese escapes from inside the burger..hence Juicy Lucy

Love that! I’ve only been to the twin cities once…for the opening of Planet Hollywood at Mall of America…mid-90’s. Middle of winter. The temperature outside was “ONE!”

My sons and I worked on the rigging of the decor prior to the opening.

Is that right?!?!?! I was the head of programming at E! and produced the one hour special celebrating the opening! I did that with Planet Hollywood in New York, Paris, Cannes, Las Vegas, London, Singapore and Bangkok! What a blast!

Thanks Robbie! It’s pretty easy to replicate and gives it a very unique look, especially if you like that slightly crispy, caramelized cheddar taste! Thanks for reading, hope you are well!

I didn’t know! I have just cooked tagliatelle with a bolognese sauce and rosemary bread. But now I want all of those burgers instead! 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.

NO Pete, what you just described sounds DELICIOUS. Hope you have a nice red wine to pair with it, but I assume of course you do! Hope all is well there in the midst of this ongoing health crisis!
