“Hamilton” The Movie Arrives On Disney+!
One of the most important and powerful stage musicals of all time is now coming home – mark your calendar for July 3!
This Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning musical is one of the most powerful experiences you can have in a theater – but as we all know, that isn’t possible in this time of #quarantinelife.
That’s all changed now as Disney+ has the original Broadway cast coming to your home!
As Deadline.com reports:
“A special teaser video is out celebrating the forthcoming debut of the filmed version of Broadway smash hit Hamilton, which bows July 3 on Disney+.
The Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical was filmed at The Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in June of 2016 and stars Daveed Diggs as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson; Renée Elise Goldsberry as Angelica Schuyler; Jonathan Groff as King George; Christopher Jackson as George Washington; Jasmine Cephas Jones as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds; Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton; Leslie Odom, Jr. as Aaron Burr; Okieriete Onaodowan as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison; Anthony Ramos as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton; and Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton.”
Here is the trailer:
It is a masterpiece for so many reasons! An important history lesson, as well as a riveting story and an incredible soundtrack as well!
Alex and I were lucky enough to see the original cast on the night Lin-Manuel Miranda won the Pulitzer Prize!

I saw it in Chicago as well as New York AND Los Angeles, and my wife also saw it in San Francisco….needless to say, we are fans and will help “crash” the Disney+ site on the 3rd!

I’m a history buff so after your original post at Pulitzer Time the info on Harding and the book were interesting 🤔

I heard an advert for this on the radio earlier. It’s coincidental that I recently watched (binge watched) Curb Your Enthusiasm. Hamilton & Lin-Manuel Miranda feature in the last season but I never realised it actually was a genuine play! I’ve had a look at your other post and it looks like an amazing time. I can see why the Pulitzer was awarded, I’ll have to add this to my to-watch list as I’ll try out the Disney free trial soon once I know I can cram in as much viewing as possible 😉

I have not seen Hamilton, John, but will keep an eye out here for it. Our theatres are supposed to be reopening this week so I’ll have a look and see what their Covid-19 process is.
