This riveting new documentary mini-series is called “Tiger King”, from the Producers behind Netflix’s outstanding Fyre Festival documentary.
It tells the story of Joe Exotic, an Oklahoma man who presided over an exotic animal park with hundreds of lions, tigers, bears, alligators and more!
Joe is one of three “big cat” owners whose stories are told: Joe Exotic, the other two include Carole Baskin, an “animal activist” with a wild story and dark past of her own…
I don’t want to give anything away, and encourage you to dive into this show without reading too much background – it will make it even more incredible!
Baskin runs a “big cat rescue” shelter, and it’s her conflicts with Joe Exotic that drive the narrative….the other “big cat” owner is equally fascinating:
Meet Doc Antle – And His Girlfriends/Wives!
Doc Antle’s story is as wild and the others: he has a “cult-like” preserve where women come to work, live and in some cases, marry him!
These are Joe’s “co-workers” – and again, just like the others in this remarkable show, he gives candid and lengthy interviews throughout the entire series – it will blow your mind!

I know he is saving tigers from Chinese medicine, but I am not sure this is the right way to do that.

Pete, the story is wilder than any fiction you can read! It continues to make me sad for the state of our country -there are more lions and tigers in the US owned by private owners than are still left in the wild!!!

I’ll have to verify this, but I think Joe Exotic ran for President in 2016. That was the first time that I had heard of him.

The payoff is about 1:40 into the clip, and then sprinkled through the rest of the segment. He was a write in candidate, not sure if that really qualifies as “running for President” but certainly he thought he was. (Make America Exotic Again!)

It’s one of the best ever done….I promise you will love it – another “truth is stranger than fiction” story to be sure – and EVERYONE participates – incredible interviews from all those involved – and it’s a HUGE cast! Don’t read more about it, dive in without knowing too much!
