Bite Into A Mega-$$$ Burger!
A friend sent me this because he knew I’d love it – get ready for the new record holder for “most expensive burger in the world!”
Behold The “Glamburger!”
Take a look at a burger that is selling for 1,100 British Pounds – that’s $1,430 at today’s exchange rate!
A restaurant in London’s Chelsea district is offering up this “Glamburger”, – so what’s in it?
Breaking Down The “Glamburger!”
As the terrific British newspaper The Mirror reported, the “Glamburger” begins with a hamburger patty with 220 grams of Kobe Wagyu beef and 60 grams of New Zealand venison, then seasoned with smoked Himalayan salt.
Oh, and inside that meat patty is a liquid pocket of black truffle brie!
As the Mirror goes on to report:
“As if that isn’t enough, the burger is then served with a Canadian lobster poached in Iranian saffron topped off with maple syrup coated streaky bacon, Beluga caviar and a hickory smoked duck egg intricately covered in edible gold leaf.
The bun is seasoned with a Japanese matcha – a kind of powdered green tea – cream mayonnaise and a coating of gold leaf.”
But the majesty of this burger just goes on and on, as a mango and champagne jus is drizzled on top and peppered with grated white truffle!
Oh, and it will also set you back more than 2,500 calories!
Chef Chris Lege created the burger as part of a publicity stunt with Groupon to give the meal away for free, had this to say about the burger:
“After sourcing the best possible ingredients to create this masterpiece, the winner will certainly have a dinner to remember.”
So, I’ll say it again: bite down and enjoy!

What I noticed about the photos with the model is that she’s holding the burger as if she’s about to enjoy it, but none of them has her “in action” actually enjoy it 🙂 Too expensive for that?

It was a photo shoot to promote it! I bet she never got to taste it – no one probably did! HA! Good catch!

I knew you would love the Glamburger, John.
Great post! 🙂
Now I want a burger, Glam or not!
But I will have to stick with what I am cooking tonight. Three-cheese pasta bake, (Cheddar, Mozzarella, and Parmesan) with smoked ham, red onion, garlic, chopped chestnut mushrooms, and fresh penne pasta.
Baked in the oven until the top is crispy enough to chew!
Best wishes, Pete.

That’s a great dish Pete…I do one similar called “Baked Ziti” with that pasta and I use sausage instead of ham, but the rest is the same….oh, and lots and lots of garlic!

Just eaten it. Next time, I might try it with sausage. 🙂
