Pickle Soda! Butter Soda! “What The Friday!?!?!” Bizarre Soft Drink Flavors Invaded My Home!

Bubblegum Soda Anyone?

Yes, it’s time for another “What The Friday?” This time, it was a flavor invasion of the most unusual sort. First, see what it says on the box? Well, that’s not even one of the flavors inside!

My son Jeff came home the other day and offered me this:

It was from a four pack of sodas – that included this:

Of course, I had to get more information. You see, Jones Soda Co. is a beverage company from Seattle, specializing in unusual flavors – like this one:

And the four pack my son showed up with had this flavor as well:

Yes – Butter, Pickle, Bacon And Ranch Dressing Flavors!

What a selection! My son Jeff sure knows how to shop!

Sure – I sent him to bed without supper, but these things are now in my house, staring at me – taunting me in a way:

Have to give Jones credit, they’ve been selling these wacky flavors for more than twenty years! They also sell many other flavors, like these “dessert packs”:

And of course, I now know what to get Jeff for his birthday:

Full disclosure: my coworker Brenton once brought me a Bacon Soda, and everyone at work at a sip – ONE SIP. enough said.

Bravo to Jones for these unique flavors…even if they aren’t meant for more than one sip, what a sip it is!

Before I let you go, don’t forget that I drank this once as well:

It was in a Tokyo vending machine, and it taunted me as well. As a lover of “all things coffee”, I had to try it. If you want to see how that tastes you can click here, and you will see my “almond fish” snack as well:

Let me know your favorite Jones flavor – oh, and I grew up calling it “POP”, not “Soda!” How about you?

It is Soda (not Pop) from the longer “Soda Pop” – and I once went to an artisanal popsicle shop that made a Pickle Juice popsicle which was surprisingly refreshing if not a tad odd.

    • I would try a “real” one like you did…this pickle soda is all sugar – and I grew up on the west coast of the US, where we called it “POP” – I think one of the few areas in the US to do so!

  4. I would not be able to drink these! I grew up calling soda cool drinks – yes, we did not drink many fizzy drinks.

  5. I like a Jones soda now and then but prefer a more normal flavor like lavender or vanilla. But the butter flavor sounds the best of the 4 and ranch dressing the absolute worst! ☺

  6. Nope, I will not try these, John. They sound yukky. I don’t even drink regular soda! What a spoil sport.

    • I don’t drink any soft drinks either, but have to give these folks credit for “infusing” these drinks with some unique flavors! I will stick to coffee, water and of course, wine…

  7. I would just have to try the bacon flavour, John. But I would happily give the other three a miss. My childhood favourite was Dandelion and Burdock, a flavour impossible to describe, but something like Dr Pepper for comparison. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dandelion_and_burdock
    Best wishes, Pete.
