Welcome To The Skies Above Yountville!
Yountville California is nestled in the heart of Napa Valley, America’s great wine-growing region. The recent tragic fires in the area can’t take away from the beauty of the valley, as a recent rise shows:
In the early morning hours, balloons soar over the skies of Yountville, offering a unique view of the valley below:
This morning, I heard the familiar “whoosh” sound of the balloons as the flames sent hot air upward, taking balloon in the same direction:
There were three balloons in the sky outside our house, but I noticed that one seemed to be slowly heading in the wrong direction:
I grabbed my camera and got these shots, as well as a video of the two balloons as they bounced up and down in the sky, one seeming to end up in a parking lot in the north end of town:
The other regained its altitude and continued on…another morning in the beautiful Napa Valley, which is open for business after the fires, so please come and visit incredible places like Taylor’s Refresher!
One of the best burgers in America is in Napa Valley, read all about Taylor’s Refresher, now known as Gott’s, by clicking on my story here:
And make sure to visit Napa Valley for a hot air balloon adventure of your own!

Quick moves with capturing the descent on film. My wife Karen would love to take a hot air balloon ride, I better hurry up and do it while I can still enjoy it. How about that magnificent photo of the sunrise?! Don’t you live in Chicago? Well I’ll be happy to see the Napa Valley continue to recover. So sad.

Lloyd, we live in LA – my wife worked in Chicago so we lived there as well but that’s done now so it west coast…and once we had a balloon scrape our roof in Napa as it lost altitude and landed in the street!

That would have been a sight. Well the Windy City is mighty pretty but L.A. is where the entertainment industry is based so makes sense. Thanks for the post and checking out my blog. Have a great day.

I love hot air balloons and you got a great treat having them fly over your house! It’s lunchtime and your burger shot looks delicious.

I have always fancied a trip in a hot air balloon. But maybe not into a local car park!
Best wishes, Pete.

Pete, they always land safely, just often not in the right place!
