It’s National Shrimp Day!

What a terrific holiday – and what better way to celebrate shrimp than by putting a bunch of them between a bun and biting down hard!

The Shrimp Tree Burger!

What better way to celebrate “National Shrimp Day” than by stacking them a mile high! It’s five fried shrimp patties on a bun, with some shredded lettuce and a tartar-like sauce…bite into the deep blue sea!

And they have many other options as well…in fact, if you need more of a bite than just shrimp, then add some beef, chicken and avocado as well!

Behold The Avocado Beef Chicken Shrimp Burger!

I love burgers! I love Japan! Therefore, it makes sense that I would love the latest burger from McDonald’s Tokyo – it is the majesty of an avocado beef, chicken and shrimp burger with bacon!

First, look at it again:

Yes, it’s only beef and avocado, but it is so much more…

Here is how RocketNews24 describes it: “The Avocado Beef burger comes with sliced onion, chunks of avocado, a slice of cheddar cheese, and a dollop of wasabi sauce, all topped off with two rashers of bacon. The other two, as well as swapping their main ingredients for chicken or shrimp, respectively, are served with avocado and spicy cobb salad sauce, with the chicken sandwich also receiving a cheeky slice of cheddar.”

“Cheeky Slice” Indeed!

So, as you can see form the delicious description, while this burger has meat, you can also order it – still loaded to the gills – with chicken OR shrimp – so three ways to try this avocado monster!

I loved the idea of it having ALL THREE AT ONCE – but am willing to enjoy it for what it is – a fun, “ciabatta-bunned” burger that makes avocado a main component…but you need to keep the shrimp on it, especially today….and for dessert, why not bite into this:

Chocolate-Covered Shrimp!

My love of Japan continues to grow, especially when I see how they make shrimp part of every course! You can cover them in chocolate, or better yet, have them in a Kit Kat!
