Cheers To The Internet!
Yes, the internet just keeps giving and giving…in this case, funny wine pictures and sayings like these:
Wine Description Vandalism!
Someone sent me this picture – someone vandalized a wine description on a store shelf – hilarious!
@Filosofizer is the person behind the picture above – great job, thanks for sharing – and it reminded me of a very funny Monty Python bit from one of their books.
This book from Monty Python includes a few of their wine reviews, like these:
“This is not a wine for drinking. This is a wine for putting down and walking away!”
And this is one of my favorites:
“A Fine Regurgitator!”
Here is Monty Python’s hilarious review of Australian Wines:
“Château Blue” –
Château Blue, too, has won many prizes; not least for its taste, and its lingering afterburn.
“Old Smokey 1968” –
Old Smokey 1968 has been compared favourably to a Welsh claret, whilst the Australian Wino Society thoroughly recommends a 1970 Coq du Rod Laver, which, believe me, has a kick on it like a mule: 8 bottles of this and you’re really finished. At the opening of the Sydney Bridge Club, they were fishing them out of the main sewers every half an hour.
“Perth Pink” –
Of the sparkling wines, the most famous is Perth Pink. This is a bottle with a message in, and the message is ‘beware’. This is not a wine for drinking, this is a wine for laying down and avoiding.
“Château Chunder” –
Quite the reverse is true of Château Chunder, which is an appellation contrôlée, specially grown for those keen on regurgitation; a fine wine which really opens up the sluices at both ends.
“Opens Up The Sluices At Both Ends!”
That might be my favorite line of all – here is Python audio of the entire review:
Monty Python was a great comic troupe, and their wine reviews are hilarious – toast to the Pythons!
Python member John Cleese has done even more work with wine as well:
So you can see, even the Pythons know how to enjoy life – even when making fun of it!
Here is the kind of wine list you really want to see – nothing but honesty and laughs when you peruse this list to choose a nice glass of wine:
Thanks to the “WonderTonic” tumbler for this hilarious list!
If you want to enjoy a movie with your glass of wine, look no further than here:
The film that destroyed the Merlot industry is really a love letter to wine – read all about it here:
Alex and I were lucky enough to go on vacation to the Chateauneuf-du-Pape wine region of France….
Here is a look at the region – pictures of Gigondas, Seguret, and of course, the very wild vineyards of Chateauneuf-du-Pape:
