In the mood for a BIG burger? Have you got some frequent flyer miles?
Let’s Head To Cambodia – And Mike’s Burger House!
Cambodia’s best burger!
How often do you get to say THAT? Well, in this case it is true – a cool burger bar from Cambodia!
That’s One BIG Burger!
Mike Im runs the best burger house in Phnom Penh. According to “A Hamburger Today”, he greets guests by name, welcomes new and old friends to sample his enormous burgers, takes pictures to print on business cards, and checks on tables to see how everything tastes.
I love the idea of a Cambodian burger – I mean, listen to what someone wrote about it…yes, the Ambassador To Cambodia!

Oh, and look at his promise – printed right there on his apron:
Mike’s Burger House opened in spring of 2011 – and there have been a number of great articles online about how terrific his food is…I would love the chance to go to Cambodia and try his burgers!
Here is the article from “A Hamburger Today”…fascinating – with an interview with Mike and more information about the restaurant – great job!
Celebrate Cambodia!
What I really love about finding the best burger in Cambodia is that this is a country that can use some good news…
As About.com states very forcefully: “The 20th century was disastrous for Cambodia.”
The country was occupied by Japan in World War II, and became “collateral damage” in the Vietnam War, with secret bombings and cross-border incursions. In 1975, the Khmer Rouge regime seized power; they would murder approximately 1/5 of their own citizens in a mad frenzy of violence.
A Country I’d Love To Visit…
Not all of Cambodian history is dark and blood-drenched. Between the 9th and 13th centuries, Cambodia was home to the Khmer Empire, which left behind incredible monuments such as Angkor Wat.
I hope that Mike’s Burger House is just one example of why the country is coming back strong – and why I’d love to visit: to see their culture, history, people, and yes, Mike!
