Welcome To Our Home!
Yes, these two Lions welcomed us to Botswana the way most of the wild safari animals did: by blocking our Jeep by take over the road!

One thing we discovered on our incredible safari adventure: the “elephant superhighway!” You see, the animals love to walk in the warm sandy ruts that the jeeps make – as you can see the overgrown brush along the side of the road is much less friendly to the feet!

I wanted to share some of the special moments we observed on our safari adventure, like this:

We loved seeing this Mama Rhino with her baby…note the the Mom’s horn was shaved down to make her less desirable to poachers…it doesn’t hurt and it grows back…here’s a video of the two:
Every single day was another magical encounter with nature.
We came across these affectionate Lions at the Wilderness Qorokwe camp in the Okavango Delta of Botswana – an incredible place to visit!
The beauty of a safari are the everyday moments you come across like this, when we came upon these Giraffe peacefully grazing:

And perhaps the cutest moment was when this baby Elephant realized his Mom wasn’t waiting for him – listen to him call out to her as he ran to catch up!
It’s important to note again that all of the animals roam free – and thanks to preserves like this, they are much safer from poachers. Here’s a look at how that happens:
You see, the animals are free to roam wherever they want: we are the ones limited to sitting quietly in a Jeep – but it allows us to discover so many magical moments like this:
Yes, a Leopard just wandering free – and we also came across one sitting quietly at the base of a tree:

You can see more video and inside info on this amazing cat…see that here:
I already shared a story about how they greeted us at Singita Boulders in South Africa on our first night, plus a look at the festive food welcome we got when we arrived…see it here!

yes they are all so adorable…we had to be very careful with the baby elephants as the Moms do NOT like you accidentally getting too close!
