I Cooked With Stanley Tucci! Here Is What We Made!

I Cooked With Stanley Tucci!

That headline is what you would call “clickbait”. Because Stanley wasn’t anywhere near me...THIS was, however:

I am a huge fan of Stanley Tucci: as an Actor, as a TV Host and of course as a great Chef who shares stories and recipes from his family and their food culture. That led me to do this:

I made Stanley’s family recipe for Ragu with Meatballs…delicious and fun to make!

You see, while I have a separate site for nothing but recipes and food news, this two-part recipe took so much time I had to share it here!

The entire process was close to 4 hours, but so worth it!

It was all part of a great “cooking with the stars” cookbook club event – click here to see the entire recipe and how you can make it yourself!

It’s all part of a great cookbook club I belong to – run by Jo Tracy! I shared the recipe on Jo’s cookbook club site – see all of the recipes submitted here, beginning with her delicious entry:

I love taking part in these cooking efforts, and I have cooked a number of Tucci’s family recipes before, like this one:

I made his family’s great Chicken Cacciatore recipe and you can see it here:

My wife had Tucci on her talk show and showed him this montage of photos:

That’s me cooking his incredible Timpano recipe – and he approved!

See what an undertaking this dish is – and why it is so worth it! Click on the story for the recipe and process to make your own “pasta pie!”

I became obsessed with Tucci’s cooking when he made a dish on his CNN travel series.

How obsessed?

THIS OBSESSED!

I made “Spaghetti alla Nerano” with some added “Zoodles” as well – click here for this amazingly delicious recipe!

I previously shared the meatball recipe from “Goodfellas”, which included the legendary “Goodfellas Garlic” process as shown here by the great character Actor Paul Sorvino – see it here:

If you like these stories, why not sign up to receive emails whenever I post? It’s easy to do, I DO NOT collect any information about you at all, there are absolutely NO ads of any kind, just stories about movies, music, books, food, travel and pop culture…

You can sign up by clicking on my blog here and see the note on the right!

Let me know if you’ve made a Timpano!

  1. What a great guy, on top of being a great chef. We were on The Kelly Clarkson Show together. The recipe looks so good!

  2. Well technically you DID cook with Stanley because his book was your guide and I just love how you highlighted it here.

Also, your vidoe was great and as you shredded the cheese I just wish I could have tried it.

Side note, I loved the episode of Monk in 2007 – where Stanley Tucci was in “Mr. Monk and the Actor”

Stanley Tucci played David Ruskin, a method actor hired to play Monk in a film. Ruskin’s intense prep for the role became an issue, and the intensity became powerful as Monk worked on a case. Have you seen this episode?

  3. This Friday morning totally getting away from me – thought I had already said hello 🙂 ! Here Down Under we have had a few Stanley Tucci series but usually latish in the evening . . . there are so many rather famous local chefs here their shows seem to take up the prime time even on food channels (which are largely free-to-air here) . . . yes, Angela Hartnett is also known by foodlovers but I do not remember any series from her. Love the look of the recipes . . . know one of my weekend look-and-sees 🙂 !

  6. I noticed Anglea Hartnett featured. She is a judge on our leading cookery TV competition here, and very popular. She also owns an assortment of restaurants, none of which I have yet eaten in.

    Best wishes, Pete.
