Who Wants To Sleep Outside? In A Cliff Bed!
I was scrolling on social media the other day and saw this picture, so I said to my wife Alex: “would you spend the night in this?” We both quickly agreed that “NO”, that didn’t look like fun! And how do you even get to the bed?
I saved the picture not knowing what to do with it, then my friend Pete posted this as part of a story looking at funny memes:

Well, it reminded me that I had been randomly saving screen shots of funny stuff I came across…not enough for a whole post, but when you put a few together, it’s hopefully a fun read for you – like this one that showed up after a recent New York snow:

OK, I love that – very creative and creepy as well! And I love this one: a Mother needed to clarify what she did for a living after her daughter submitted a drawing to his class:

I love that! And this one is priceless: the TV show “Wheel Of Fortune” requires contestants to guess a phrase based on letters being turned on the board…which leads to some options that are, shall we say, spicy?

OK, that was funny! I hope you enjoyed these, let me know what you think and thanks to Pete for the inspiration…wee more of his really funny and fascinating memes here!
Back to Shelley winters: she starred in a number of classic Hollywood films, like Stanley Kubrick’s “Lolita” – and the classic 70’s disaster film “The Poseidon Adventure”:

That’s the legendary Actor Gene Hackman holding Shelley – sadly he died last week – this was an emotional moment in the film, but after they yelled “CUT” they did anything but hug!
Click here to read about their epic offscreen “Catfight” – and also the ego battle between Paul Newman and Steve McQueen!
“The Poseidon Adventure” is one of the great films of the 70’s, and it reminded me it is included in this really terrific book:

The title is also one of the great lines from the film – check out all of the fun stuff inside this great look at the films of the 70’s:
“The Stewardess is Flying the Plane!” is a lavishly illustrated, fun and informative look at more than 400 films of the decade! And for one of the best suspense thrillers of that decade, click here for a ride on “Pelham 1-2-3!”

Love the Shelley Winters story. She was terrific in The Poseidon Adventure. And the snowman eating a kid is hilarious.

I saw that post about the hanging beds and that was a big nope for me, too. I’m pretty sure it must be fake but it reminds me of climbers who sleep in a bivy much like that. Again, a big no for me!

I agree, and you made a great point: there are hikers who sleep on the sides of mountains and I dont know how they do it! Thanks so much for the comment!

Wow! Those Cliff beds look really cool, but I don’t think I could bring the family.

HA! Great point! Not even sure where those exist and if they were for actual use or just an artistic expression but they seem a bit too dicey for me! Thanks for the comment!

Great mixture for remembering and grinning! Shelley Winters always was a gutsy lady . . . tick!!! The bed photo is most imaginative and does make you think ‘NO THANKS’! And Graham Norton’s British version of ‘Wheel of Fortune’ is being shown Down Under at the moment . . . there have been a few risqué moments but perchance we missed this one 🙂 !

I found Shelley’s autobiography at a used book store and bought it – I’m eager to read her take on entertainment as she says what she thinks, that’s for sure! Thanks for the comment!

This was really a fun post and I like how it all came together for you.
The beds are really interesting and I would not sleep out there either – but they do seem like decor or just made up….
also, loved the Home Depot shovel sale picture – hahah LMAO

And little Johnny’s mom wants to know why he doesn’t want to go outside and play in the snow. “The neighborhood’s gone down hill Mom. Have you checked out the smith’s yard? Some kid got eaten by their snowman!”

HA! Yes, for young minds of a certain age that would be a nightmare maker for sure! Thanks for the comment!
