Season two of the acclaimed TV series “Tokyo Vice” is on Max no, and I can’t wait to see it.
Why? Because it’s based on this real-life thriller that I read several years ago!
I loved this book, and the series “Tokyo Vice” is inspired by American journalist Jake Adelstein’s nonfiction, firsthand account of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police beat.
As they announced:
“The crime drama, filmed on location in Tokyo, captures Adelstein’s (Ansel Elgort) daily descent into the neon-soaked underbelly of Tokyo in the late ‘90s, where nothing and no one is truly what or who they seem.”
Here is the trailer for the series:
If you haven’t seen season one, it is also available on MAX, and it’s worth seeing as a travelogue to the great city of Tokyo!
I own the book that the series is based on, which is riveting:
Adelstein is a Reporter who went to Tokyo to co ver crime in the city, and he learned so much more about what lies underneath these neon streets:

Looks like a good series, John. No HBO MAX here though, not that I have ever seen. It might be on satellite for a fee, but I don’t have satellite.
Best wishes, Pete.
