Santorini By Land Sea And Air! Here’s “Seven Days In Santorini” – An Amazing Video Adventure By Chris Sloan!

Toasting A Santorini Sunset!

Regular readers of this blog know that my wife and I traveled to Greece for the first ever last summer – and, “WOW” only begins to capture the magic of that trip!

From ancient ruins to magical sunsets, the country is spectacular in every way – and my friend Chris captured the most magical island of all – Santorini – by land, sea and air!

The Magic Of Santorini!

We stayed in four different areas of Greece, and all were incredible – but it just so happens that Chris Sloan captured one island for us to enjoy forever!

This is a panorama view of the island’s caldera, with the clear outline of a submerged volcano…this was the view from our hotel, and Chris, his wife and friends came to visit – because we just all happened to be there at the same time!

That’s Chris on the lower right – he brought his drone along on the visit – and it turns out he captured a week on the island in a memorable video now on YouTube! As he says as an intro:

A magical seven days on the stunning Greek Island of Santorini in June 2021 photographed from the air, land, and sea. We took our DJI Mavic Pro drones and DJI Osmo and DJI Pocket cameras along to document this unforgettable trip. We visit Pyrgos, Fira, Oia, Imerovigli, Akrotiri, Ammoudi, The Volcanic Caldera, Nea Kameni, beaches, and a special sailing cruise around the bay.

Here is the incredible story of Santorini by land, sea and air:

Bravo Chris and the entire creative team!

Here are their well-deserved credits:

Now, one thing about his video I have to refute:

Chris shows the 280+ steps from Ammoudi Bay up to the town of Oia, and the Donkeys waiting patiently to take you either way – while that is true, know that each step is actually THREE steps of movement as you descend or ascend…I know because we walked down AND back up in 94 degree heat!

Here’s that story:

Chris also captured some of the incredible sunsets, which many feel are the most beautiful in the world…here’s a video I shot from our room one night:

Every single night was more beautiful than the night before – here’s that story:

We also discovered that there is NO rainfall on the island, therefore very few trees, Chris’s terrific video shows…BUT they make wine here – how?

Well, we got a tour and found out and it’s very unique – click here to see how these “ground hugging” grapes are grown!

We also discovered that our hotel is used as a “photo op”, with these incredible photo shoots going on every day!

  4. Absolutely gorgeous! I’ve been to Greece a few times, and Crete is my forever favourite in this beautiful country. I usually stay in the outskirts of Chania. I find it very relaxing, as you can find private spots, hole in the wall restaurants, but still enjoy the city and the fun there if you like.
