Time To Say Goodnight!
Talk about getting away – where you park is your home! Here is one of the most unique living spaces I have ever seen!
With the craziest year 2020 now behind us, has it changed how you think you could live your life – would you be interested in this #quarantinelife?
Here is how it is explained on Huffington Post:
“Ecocapsule is a tiny, 86 square-foot living capsule that, as soon as next year, will enable owners to live virtually anywhere. Each mobile pod comes with sleeping space for two, a mini kitchen, a fully functional toilet and shower, storage space, a desk and two windows.”
I have posted about these incredibly cute – and incredibly small – pods, which are now for sale, so if you are ready to buy your own “weekend getaway home” here you go! Here’s what really makes them self-sufficient: they harvest their own rainwater and remove all bacteria, so you have your own water supply! They can also power themselves using the sun and wind!
The $98,000 Mobile Egg!
The Slovakia-based Nice Architects have created this cute “mobile egg” that sells for about $98,000 – they estimate that it will cost about $2,400 to have a pod shipped to the US.
Would you live inside an egg?
Meet The Drop XL!
And I need to also show you the “DROP XL”, which calls itself:
“a large version of the organically-shaped removable hotel suit DROP eco-hotel. The DROP modules are part of the large emerging trend in the field of modular microarchitecture, suitable for being placed wherever the heart desires and the land permits!”
I think these are all adorable little getaways pods, if you are a fan of “tiny homes” then these are for you!
Of course all of this reminds me of another type of incredible getaway I could use right now:
Talk About “Sleeping With The Fishes!”
One day, once we are back to our “new normal”, I want to stay in this “underwater hotel room”!
Here’s my story about the incredible underwater hotel, where you sleep in the deep! Read all about it here:

I love how people have found ingenious ways to make use of “available space”. Perhaps the best example is this:
Yes, don’t let being stuck at home in your skyscraper keep you from doing some laps in your own pool! Read all about these amazing “skyscraper pools” here:

Interesting post. I love the idea behind these cool eggs, bit pricey though, right? In Cumbria, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, South Dakota, or the Limousin, you can buy a whole town for that kind of money. And they throw in the surrounding woodlands, lakes, and rivers for free.

This is creativity! I’ll pass on the pod (a pop-up tent is fine), but sign me up for a balcony with a pool!

You’re right, they are incredibly cute! I kind of like the idea, as long as it’s not precariously close to a cliff edge like in the photo. I love the look of those mini pools on the edge of the balconies in the skyscraper image, but again, I don’t like stuff close to the edge of anything. My stomach couldn’t handle it! x

My comment vanished, John, so if you get two you know why. The skyscraper pools look lovely but then that picture is designed to make them look attractive I think. The eggs are a bit small for me. I like space to spread out.

I do like the picture of the skyscraper pools, John. Rather novel. The eggs look cute, but very small. I might get claustrophobic.

My first thought is maybe for a night just to say that I’ve done it, but it makes me feel a bit claustrophobic just looking at it. I do admire the creativity and ingenuity it took to come up with the idea.

I might need an extra small pod for Ollie, but I could see myself settling for that quiet life in a Pod now. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
