Who’s Up For a Travel Challenge?
Yes, that’s paradise, also known as Bondi Beach in Sydney Australia…to me, this shot inspires me to travel every time I see it… and the majesty of Bondi was a great way to jump into the last day of this terrific #TravelChallenge I was nominated to participate in – and which I am doing gladly!
The night lights of Tokyo are incredible to stand under – a city teeming with life but pristine and safe as well!
Here is another shot to get day #10 underway:
Details On This “Travel Challenge!”
The above photo shows just how inspiring our world can be – and how exhilarating it can be to explore it – in this case, from 454 feet above Utah’s canyon floor…
Now, about the “travel challenge”: this ten day challenge was all about visual images – so the challenge was to post a favorite travel picture for 10 days without explanation.
I love traveling, and I love taking pictures, so this was an easy challenge for me…here’s more proof:
I happened upon this majestic tree sharing a gorgeous web of shadow, with Napa Valley’s incredible vineyards behind it…because nature’s beauty is literally everywhere you look…like this shot of Alex with Spain’s Costa Brava behind her – yes, she was doing a work call at the time!
Nature is always showing off, but you know what? Cities can do the same thing…especially when Chicago pushed up against Lake Michigan, leading to a cool angle for me to capture as much of it as I could:
Sometimes, there’s nothing you can do to really capture the grandeur of a place – like the time I visited the southern rim of the Gran Canyon and tried to capture it:
It’s literally impossible to soak it all in – there is just too much of it!
I also hiked into the Canyon and if you want to join me, click on my story here and see some of the videos:
Finally, my wife and I were lucky enough to experience a “Super Bloom”:
Again, almost impossible to really capture the incredible beauty on display – this is literally 50 feet off a freeway exit!
We shot a lot of pictures, and Alex noted by tendency to cut my own face off in selfies:
These don’t happen often, so we shot a ton of photos to capture it – and if you click here you can see them all:
That’s it, the end of my ten day #TravelChallenge!
I was nominated by Carol, whose website link is below. Carol shares terrific stories about exotic food and unique recipes, as well as important stories about our environment!
I had a lot of fun sharing stories of our travels, like the incredible beauty of Venice:
What a city! You can see all of our pictures by clicking on my story here:
And I also shared some of our great cooking adventure in Provence:

Thanks for the comment Jennie! I love hearing from you! If you ever do the Grand Canyon, take the special train from Williams…you get incredible scenery on the way, it drops you literally a minute from the southern rim, and it’s fun! You park your car at Williams and don’t have to worry at all!

Loved all of your posts in this challenge, John! You and Alex have traveled to so many wonderful places, what an adventure! And I love that you ‘broke the rules.’ I was invited to participate in this challenge a while back but couldn’t conceive of posting a single picture without any words! I’m glad you did it your way! š š

Pete, it was a fun challenge to see what everyone had to share, especially at a time when we can’t travel! I actually have a couple of fun adventures to share – did them “pre-pandemic” but will be sharing later…glad you are staying safe, let’s get those vaccination going faster!
