“Voice-Activated” Water Faucets! Welcome To CES 2020! The Wildest Cooking Gadgets Are Unveiled At Tech’s Big Show!

Welcome To The Future!

It’s the place where the future is unveiled.

The 2020 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) just ended, and that means thousands gathered in Las Vegas to see the latest gadgets, gizmos and giant TV screens:

That’s right, while us mere mortals are still trying to understand the world of 4K TV, they are double that right now – don’t worry, someday soon the merits of an 8K lifestyle will be made known to you.

But did you know that CES is also where new cooking gadgets are unveiled as well?

Meet “Julia” – She Would Like To Cook And Clean For You!

Every year, cool cooking gadgets are also unveiled at the show, like “Julia”!

As Wired.com reports:

CookingPal’s “Julia” smart processor is a: ‘smart cooking system’ that weighs, chops, whisks, kneads, cooks, mixes and steams food. Oh, and did we mention that, if you’re capable of adding water and washing-up liquid, it washes itself, too? The accompanying smart display – with voice controls and a dial – suggests recipes and ingredients so all you really need to do is tap to order your shopping.

Yes, “Julia” can help you eat better as well as cook and clean for you – and even do the shopping!

I found this at Wired’s UK website, which you can see here:

The food website Eater also weighed in with some wacky cooking gadgets for 2020.

As Eater reports:

“And just like in past years, electronics manufacturers arrived to show off a bunch of new-fangled kitchen products, many of which are just copies of existing appliances but with the added ability to connect to the internet. After all, how are your friends going to know that you’re better than them if you don’t have a wifi-capable tea kettle to prove it?”

So you get the idea: gadgets designed to “wow” tech writers and prove to be completely unnecessary to serious cooks…like this for example:

The “Smart” Frying Pan!

Did you know that your cookware is about to be smarter than you?

As Eater says:

The goal of this “smart frying pan” — to track nutritional values of your food — isn’t inherently bad. But it seems to buy into the fallacy that more information is inherently good — and while the Silicon Valley biohacking crowd might relish in knowing the precise nutritional breakdown of their food, the rest of us can make do with estimates.

Yes, the pan will keep track of your calories, nutrients etc while you cook….hmmmm…..maybe this is more up your alley:

The “Voice Activated” Water Faucet!

Yes, it’s exactly what you think: you can call out to your faucet to turn on and off, and as a bonus, it will call out to you if it’s leaking as well – and who doesn’t need that?

Finally, need more computer screens in your kitchen?

The “Kitchen Hub!”

This monitor is designed to help you with recipes, cooking tips, videos and more – conveniently hung in the middle of the kitchen!

Would you use this? Any of these? Let me know!

Eater has even more cooking devices of the future, check out their entire article here:

I think too much tech in the kitchen is unnecessary; instead Scientist should continue working on stuff like this:

Yes, this is a new miracle “hangover” cure – a can with the juice of SEVENTY clams!

Now this is technology in action! Does it work? Click here to find out:

  1. I am also thinking No! No! No!… I don’t even have a microwave I outed that bit of technology years ago…Maybe an instant pot would be nice…it would take the pain out of cooking lentils and the like or an ice cream maker…That’s about my limit methinks…Guessing my calories is quite close enough for me…

  2. I look at this and sit here thinking, ‘No No No’.
Why would I want a frying pan to tell me how many calories I am eating, or have to tell my kitchen tap to turn on and off? And what happens when the Internet signal is erratic, or shut off? Does the tap keep running?
I think we should be getting back to basics, not inventing more supposedly ‘smart’ stuff.
In the future, nobody will know how to do anything for themselves, not even turn on a tap!
    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. Not sure I need to talk to my faucet. But how about, “make me a latte, two shots, whole milk please.” And I like the computer over the stove to help with recipes step by step. But then where would the microwave go? So last century I guess! 🙂
