“Inside The Gold Plated Pistol!” Author Cynthia Bruchman’s New Historical Thriller Is This Wednesday’s Bookmobile!

Author Cynthia Bruchman’s New Novel Is Here!

One of the best things about blogging is that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting other great bloggers from around the world…Cynthia Bruchman is one of those new friends.

Cynthia teaches English and History, and has a very active blog, where she shares a wide variety of stories.

Bruchman’s latest novel is out – so we are jumping on Wednesday’s Bookmobile to take a look!

“Inside The Gold Plated Pistol.”

Bruchman’s new novel is a historical thriller that takes place during the filming of a Hollywood western.

Here is Amazon’s description:

It’s 1928. A dreamer, an addict, and a smuggler converge in the Arizona wilderness when a Hollywood film crew shoots a Zane Grey western.

One wants to escape her mother and become a movie star.

Two covet what’s hiding in the gold-plated pistol.

Three fight for their lives when disaster strikes in a red rock canyon.

Motivated by desperation and fueled by drive, their lives transform when they discover what’s inside the gold-plated pistol.

It sounds terrific! I just bought my copy on Amazon’s kindle and am looking forward to digging in!

I also have Bruchman’s previous novel as well:

“The Knife With The Ivory Handle!”

As Amazon describes this book:

It is 1900. The story follows the fortunes of two orphan train riders, a black southern man the two children rescue, and a young priest who has to find his own way into emotional adulthood. From the first train as Annette and Jonathan cross the country to their adopters in Illinois farm country, to the final eruption into riot, fire, and murder in a coal mining town, dramatic tension sustains through alternating points of view.

You can download it on Kindle as I did, or buy it as a paperback…it’s terrific!

Bruchman has an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College and a Masters in History from Illinois State University, and devotes her research and creative skills to novels that feature underrepresented voices in U.S. History during the 20th century.

Bruchman always has interesting stories on her blog, which you can see here:

I love when Authors write about topics or times they are fascinated with, like this Author:

  3. I follow her blog, nice photographer. I remember Cindy’s post about the writing of this book, glad to hear it is out. If she said so, I sure missed that one.

I just ordered the book, I like to hold them and put them on my bookshelf and lend out. Can’t do that with a kindle.
