“Forehead Selfies!” I’m Trying A New Way To Capture Images – With Part Of My Head!

My Paris Hotel Stairwell Selfie!

OK, don’t judge me, but this is my new favorite “selfie” – I wanted to capture the unique stairwell in my Paris hotel – with my forehead included!

I’ve been playing with different ways to do selfies – like the one I got from my wife Alex’s sunglasses:

I have also been using driveway mirrors to get some of the selfies – like this one on a cold rainy day in Chicago:

But the new project focuses on selfies that include ONLY my forehead, like this one – I’m there in the lower right, in case the beauty of the rest of the shot has obscured me!

The incredible Del Dotto Wine Cave in Napa Valley has a unique Chandelier from Italy, so I had to capture it – with my forehead.

I did the same with these incredibly purple Jacaranda trees in Los Angeles:

I also captured the lighting grid inside a studio that way – and I even shot a short video of an outdoor heater – with “you know what” in the foreground:

I’ll keep sharing these as I find myself in places that offer an interesting background, like this wine barrel from Napa’s Valley prestigious Morlet Vineyards:

I am trying to find ways to have more fun with my phone camera, so let me know what you think!

I appreciate everyone who has had to put up with my “selfie” binge…of course, they are NOT as creative as this Artist however:

“#StefDies” Art!

This Artist took “#Stefdies” instead of selfies, a statement about our current obsession with taking photos of ourselves, no matter what is around us…if you want to see more of those brilliant #Stefdies images, you can click on my story about her here:

I’ve been playing around a lot with my iPhone lately:

Life Thru Liquid!

Here are a couple of examples of a new series I started called “life thru liquid”:

I’ve been taking pictures through drinks of all kinds – you can see more of them by clicking the link here:

  1. I’ve never considered a forehead selfie. The selfies taken through mirrors and life through liquid are both interesting. They all give a different perspective of the world.

  2. I have taken very few selfies, John. I don’t like how my eyes come out in a selfie. I quite like the forehead selfies, they are unusual and you don’t have the eyes problem which I think is common to all people.

  3. I have never actually taken a selfie, John. Perhaps because I use a camera, rather than a phone.
I really like your ‘liquid’ series though! 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.
