Gondola Traffic Jam!
Well, we know that Venice is popular, and since there aren’t any streets for cars, this is the only way to get around!
Of course, you can find some offbeat streets in Venice if you look hard enough, just remember that these weren’t built for groups!

This is just one of the many unique things my wife Alex and I discovered in Venice.
My “Six Shot Saturday” series is a way for me to share images that capture some places we’ve been – as these photos attest, Venice is almost surreally beautiful, especially after dark along the grand canal…

And when we were there, the water did come up over the sidewalks in places, especially in San Marco Square, allowing me this unique reflection…

No matter how crowded Venice gets – and yes, it gets CROWDED – you can always find a moment of solitude…

Microscopically small canals provide an intimate getaway, under very low bridges…but perhaps the most famous of them all is the “Bridge Of Sighs”…

Well, seven shots actually, but that’s what Venice does to you: makes you want to break all the rules!
Here are more pictures and stories of our adventure there:

Let me know if you like the “Six Shot Saturday” series…my previous one was from Napa Valley, where the vineyards put on a spectacular show for me:

Love these shots! Especially the photo of the woman (your wife?) in front of the water with the rose in her bag. I’ve always wanted to visit Venice – my partner has been and tells me it’s wonderful so I’m hoping we can go someday soon.

I haven’t been since 2007! I will be returning in 2022. 🙂
Crowded is right. We stayed at Lido Beach and I liked that.

It was our second time and it was even better than the first…we spent time away from the crowds and explored the more offbeat areas this time!
