The “Doctor Sleep” Movie Trailer Is Here!
Yes, the much-anticipated sequel to “The Shining” will be out in November, and the trailer has dropped!
Ewan MacGregor stars as a grown up Danny, who still can’t seem to shake that “Redrum” signage…this looks promising!
Here is the trailer:
Of course, Stephen King wrote both of the novels, and iconic Director Stanley Kubrick turned “The Shining” into one of the best horror films of all time:
Some scenes from the original film, like Danny peddling through the hotel hallways, are included in the trailer…I wonder if we will see what he came across:
The original classic celebrated its 35th anniversary a few years back with a huge event…you can click here to see all of the trivia and inside info about the making of this classic film:
Let me know what you think about the trailer!

i read the book and have to admit I got bored with it and predicted the ending correctly lol.
But this film looks good enough.

Doctor Sleep is one of Stephen King’s better more recent books, John. Some of the sex scenes are quite weird and graphic but the story is good. Not as good as The Shining though.

I cannot say I will be watching this one. I can read horror – and enjoy Stephen King – but I cannot watch it.

I’m always torn about that but I think you are right: this looks like a case where King’s writing will offer much more complexity and layers to the story…thanks for the comment!

Hmmmm. I’m not sure I’m in. I love Ewan and think he’s a fine actor. I’m just not convinced of the plot.

I never read the book so don’t know any of it…will be interesting if they stick to King’s novel or go off of it a bit, which always drives him crazy! I think reviews will tell me whether to see it or not!

It’s my favorite book by King. And I enjoyed Kubrick’s take on it, although, I’ve read King hated the film because it had no heart. Regardless, It’s one of those near-and-dear stories that make this new endevour sceptical.

I hope it’s a good scary movie…this, along with “IT 2”, could make it a great Halloween season this year!

John, I am in two minds. I never thought The Shining was as wonderful as everyone else did. Jack over-acted to excess, and ruined it for me. Not sure that Ewan can salvage that.
Best wishes, Pete.

Well he’s normally NOT an over-actor, and nothing in the trailer suggests he will go there…”The Shining” is a great film to debate – so many opinions of it!
