  1. Hey! Canned spam is very tasty when I’m in the mood for it. A very big market for it in Hawaii, 7 millions can consumed per year, according to Google! LOL Yes, I have read my spam from time to time, but I usually clean out my spam pretty regularly so it doesn’t clog up my Comments section. I actually found a reply to one of my posts in the spam folder, so it pays to check it regularly to make sure you don’t miss something. That could have easily been a question to someone that would have liked to work with me!

  2. I have three blogs, John, and the one I get troubled with the most spam on is my paid for blog. The free ones don’t seem to attract nearly as much of this. Strange that, isn’t it. I don’t get as much as you but I don’t have such interesting photographs and topics [smile].

  3. On a side note, I’ve never eaten spam. The desire has never struck me, oddly enough.
Spam comments are a pain in the bum. Sometimes comments end up in there by mistake so it’s important to check and fish out any good ones. Do you use the Jetpack plug-in? It’s a free one, they have a spam thingy bobby that can be helpful in reducing junk on your site & keeping it safe.

That comment, about cold sweats and gemstones, that’s just… well, what can one say to that? And gnomepaste. That’s an interesting one. Sadly nobody has written to me about this, I could have gone my whole life without knowing about it if it weren’t for your blog.

Anyway, huuuuuuge congrats on the nomination, John! I have already placed my vote, & you have mine, dear sir!

  5. Spam can definitely be entertaining. I do admit I do not go to my spam box too often.

  6. John,
You’re the second blogger to write about Spam in this way. I first read it on Life on the Lighter Side Blog. (https://lifeonthelighterside.com/2019/04/09/lets-talk-about-spam-this-post-is-not-spam/)
I’ve never checked my blog for Spam comments, but I imagine I have thousands as well. I’ve always had an aversion to Spam anyway. 😊

  7. I don’t get much in my email, but I can guarantee at least a dozen a day on WordPress, sometimes fifty. Like you, I find them amusing, and in most cases I actually read them just before hitting ‘Empty Spam’. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  8. Wow, that’s a lot of spam! Entertaining indeed! 😊 I skim through mine and occasionally find someone’s real comment to release from spam jail but most are bizarre!
