The 5th Annual Bloggers Bash! Five Reasons To Love Social Media! Previewing London’s Big Basher Event!

5 Things I Love About Social Media!

I was prompted to consider something “in the key of five” by the Bloggers Bash site: as they celebrate their fifth year, the call went out to post using “FIVE” as a prompt.

Here are FIVE things I love about blogging:

1 – I Love This – And You Might Too!

We all have passions and hobbies – and the internet is a great way to share them!

I had a Wagyu Burger in Tokyo, a Beetroot Burger in Australia, and a Foie Gras burger in Paris. Someone has a unique burger to share with me and I’m ready to try it.

2 – Oh, The Places You Will Go!

I love to explore the world’s amazing places, like the Grand Canyon.

Blogging helps me find information on how to get somewhere, what to expect when I arrive, and what to avoid. I’ve made friends with travel Bloggers who share their adventures, making the world a friendlier place.

3 – Meeting Other Bloggers – And Blogging Groups!

That’s my “egg-stuffed avocado wrapped in bacon” recipe – I tried to make it, and it failed spectacularly!

I shared it with a Facebook group called “Baked Delights” – because I knew they’d love the effort.

Failure or success, social media is the way to share our lives with others:

4 – Sharing Magical Moments

I took my wife and son to Tokyo, and Jeff explored the incredible Golden Gai district – more than 200 micro-bars:

We met Yuko Yamazaki, a local Musician who ran this 8-seat bar. We went for a drink and Yuko decided to perform for us!

Of course I posted about it – because I wanted to share it with my social media friends.

I have met people from all over the world who have similar passions as mine. I have also met people who share their struggles, their setbacks and their goals…

5 – Reinforcing That We Are All In This Together…

I interact with bloggers with specific agendas – cooking, health, stories about illness, with social media the outlet for their insight and perspective.

I learn every day from the experiences they share.

I look forward to meeting these great people at the 2019 Bloggers Bash!

  3. Wooohoooo! I’m so excited for you, John – I wish I could go but realistically it wouldn’t be feasible with not knowing if I’ll be well enough on the day let alone the cost. BUT it will be fantastic, so I’ll look forward to hearing how you got on. And I love these reasons, blogging & social media & the online world really can be a great place with lots of positives, despite all the negative press it often gets lately. Everything in balance & moderation I always say. Here’s to more happy blogging 😀
