Ready to Enter The World’s Most Amazing Apartment Building?
Talk about a unique way to live!
This is “The Interlace” – built in Singapore, and designed by Ole Scheeren.
This building won the “World Building of the Year” award in 2015 – it’s an incredible series of apartment “blocks” that are stacked diagonally across one another to frame terraces and gardens.
I read online that the project was conceived as “the antithesis to tower blocks” – those dull cement towers that house thousands of people in dreary buildings.
The Interlace is a collection of 31 stacked apartment “blocks” – individual buildings that have been arranged and stacked in a honeycomb arrangement to frame eight large hexagonal courtyards.
Here is a cool video that explains the project, from “Trends Ideas” on YouTube:
Bravo to the entire team behind this incredible apartment building – I have posted other stories about architecture around the world that breaks the mod to give us art as well as housing – like these unique swimming pools:
Fancy a swim in one of these? If so, you can see the entire story here:
Amazing!!! Exotic!!! The swimming pool !!! Awesome. What a piece of Architecture. Reminds me of childhood play of building blocks, stacking the blocks one over another. Ha ha ha. WAnt to visit this place..
Robbie, thanks for your comment…it’s why I have such “wanderlust” – to see things like this – at least we can all look at the pics and videos and dream about a visit!
I think it looks great, though everyone is overlooked in some way. Then again, Singapore is a crowded city in some parts, and this is a cool way to give people some open spaces built in.
Best wishes, Pete.
I wonder how the community feel about living there. It certainly looks much better than traditional tower blocks, you would assume safer too (from earthquakes)
It is a wonderful place to live! We are extremely fond of it.

It seems like the outdoor areas are meant to give it a much more exotic feel – which would also make a big difference!
