Was Johnny Depp Drunk At His Movie Premiere? The Daily Mail Reports From The “Orient Express!”

Johnny Depp’s Questionable Appearance At London’s “Murder On The Orient Express” Premiere!

The Daily Mail UK has an in-depth story about Johnny Depp’s recent appearance at the premiere of his latest film. “Murder On The Orient Express” has an all-star cast, and thousands of fans were out to see the red carpet festivities in London.

Here is how the Daily Mail story begins:

“Johnny Depp appeared worse-for-wear when he hit the red carpet at the Murder on the Orient Express world premiere in London with a security guarding having to prop him up in front of thousands of fan.

Photos have emerged of the Hollywood star walking the red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday night while an aide maintained a tight grip on his arm.

The 54-year-old, dressed in a smart black tuxedo with his bow-tie loose, is said to have ‘reeked of alcohol’ as he mingled among his co-stars Dame Judi Dench, Penelope Cruz and Kenneth Branagh.”

Of course, these are just observations from the reporter, and let’s hope that Depp wasn’t “out of control”, because he has had a run of very bad press lately, and the reviews for “Murder On The Orient Express” are great!

I look forward to seeing the film when it opens in the US this week. Also, Depp’s Publicists insist he was NOT drunk at the premiere.

It’s been a rough year for Depp, who has sued his management team for failing to handle his finances – they have counter-sued, claiming that he had uncontrollable spending habits.

These lawsuits have led to the release of those $$$ habits, which are no doubt embarrassing to see all over the press.

Let’s hope Depp is OK, because this last year has many fans worried….

  1. I noticed him on the Graham Norton show last year where the first time in his entire public life he had put on weight, his skin looked bad and his confidence dented. I think we can all agree that some of his behaviour has been unacceptable and very unacceptable to live with but whether that is him as a whole person remains to be seen. I think he was going through a bad period and did some things he should regret and make amends for. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a bad person full stop. Just this last week he was back on Norton a little bit more confident, slimmed down and looking good. I thought great, bad break-up and he’s turned the corner. This would appear to be otherwise but being drunk at a premiere ain’t the same as being abusive to your partner and I’d take anything the Daily Mail says with a grain of salt.

  2. Drunk or not, he looks bloody good for 54! And he is very ‘cool’ too, in the old-fashioned James Dean way of being cool. Like the stars of yesteryear, he has always seemed destined to not make ‘old bones’…
    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. Stardom is both pressured and precarious …. I suspect that JD is suffering from that double whammy and the fact that as a public, unfortunately, we tend to like to kick when the idol falls. I met him many years ago in Britain where he kept a home and found him to be utterly charming. Sadly a life in the spotlight can dent the edges of the most robust.

  4. Oh no! Hollywood’s leading men are really taking it on the chin lately.😔

    • He’s had a strange last few years, and many stories that aren’t complimentary. My wife and I spent time with him at the Cannes film festival twice and he was always polite, friendly and engaging…very chill for a big movie star….i hope this is not the current state of his life
