A friend just came back from an African Safari….now I want to go!
Rule #1 on Safari: “Food Runs!” Hilarious And Dangerous Safari Tales!

“Whatever You Do, DON’T RUN!”
True Tales of a Botswana Safari Guide by Peter Allison
Let’s begin with a “safari joke”…
Two guys see a lion. One puts on a pair of running shoes. “what are you doing?” the other guy said, “you can’t outrun a lion.”

As TA says, the hippo is considered to be more dangerous than any big cat. When we were in Kenya, they also told us to watch out for water buffalo, which also don’t hesitate to kill people. But at no time did we ever feel in any danger, except one time when we got out of the truck to pee in some bushes, and the guide called out “watch out for mamba snakes!”
You will love a safari, John. It’s a great experience to see animals in such large numbers. And you get to eat things like Impala, Ostrich, and unusual meats of all kinds too!
Best wishes, Pete.

I don’t know what I’d do. Probably faint and be eaten. 🙂

He he. The thing is here in the African bush, people underestimate the speed and aggression of the cute hippopotamus. One of the most dangerous mammals despite it looking so slow and clumsy.
When you do get down to the southern tip of Africa, hope you have an awesome time. It is absolutely stunning with amazing experiences in the wild.
