Surprise! Safaris Have Monkeys And Baboons!
Welcome back to my amazing safari adventures…where my wife and I visited 5 separate safari camps in three different countries over 19 days…with our first stop being Singita Boulders in the Sabi Sands region of South Africa!

Here’s the deck of our room, which sits on the Sand River. I will show you some of the amazing animals who wandered by our room….first first, let’s talk about the wild animals who are virtually IN OUR ROOM!

At Singita Boulders Lodge, located along the Sand River in South Africa’s Sabi Sand Game Reserve, vervet monkeys and chacma baboons roam free, like this one on the thatched roof of our room. They love to run across the deck and fling themselves into the trees – like this:
The Monkeys loved to run around and drink from our pool – here’s another look:
They are pesky, so you have to make sure to keep your screen doors closed…they will brazenly come into your room and rifle through your suitcases and they can even open the refrigerator door!
Out on the savannah, we encountered a troop of Baboons:

They were literally just hanging out in a field: there were at least 20-30 of them.
Here is a Mom carrying her baby underneath her:
We drove around the Singita Sabi Sands preserve and found wild Baboons everywhere:
They are known to be quite feisty and will take anything you leave sitting around – but they never came close to the Jeep – here are some more Baboons moving about:
Back in our room: I showed you how they ran around the deck, but we saw more!
Here is the video I captured of two small Monkeys playing with a Bat, who played dead – all on the roof of our room!
There were wild animals everywhere at Singita! These enjoyed running across our deck and flinging themselves into the trees – here’s how that looked:
I also shared this wild story of a Baboon high up in a cocoa duty tree dropping fruit on a pride of Lions! Watch this!
This was just the beginning – click on my story for more videos of this Baboon taking on an entire pride of Lions!
As I told you, wild animals wandered by our room at Singita Boulders all the time – like this large herd of Elephants wandering along the river one morning!
Singita was magical in so many ways…

We came upon some very thirsty Hippos at Singita in South Africa as well…
We encountered Hippos at every single camp we visited…here are some more videos of these magnificent creatures…
