Welcome to Paradise!
This is the unbelievable coastline of central California…as clouds roll in off the Pacific Ocean before clearing to reveal this view from Big Sur:

A drive north up California’s incredible highway one takes you past Big Sur on your way to Carmel and Monterey – more on that incredible location in a minute.
I forget how spectacularly beautiful this part of our country is, with obscure places to pop in and see amazing beauty, like this:

Garrapata State Park – 19 Sign Posts Of Beauty!
Nestled on Highway 1, just 6.7 miles south of the art community of Carmel – Garrapata State Park hugs the coast and offers amazing views in all directions…with more than two miles of beach, and a number of hiking trails in all directions…

The state park is “scattered” along 19 separate areas – so obscurely “numbered” that you’ll never find them as you drive past…however, each one has a nice turnoff to park your car, and once you get a sense of why people are pulled over, you are on your way…

Alex found our turnoff, and the small trail that took us to an incredibly hidden find: a Calla Lily Valley!

Calla Lilies were in the news recently, all thanks to Taylor Swift:

Here she is posting in front of some very large and beautiful Calla Lilies – apparently her favorite flower – so what nefarious activity was she undertaking?

No, Taylor Swift did not buy out every single calla lily in New York City.
Yes, my Calla Lilies are playing out in a funny – and false news story from last week – involving Taylor Swift!
Recent rumors claimed that the pop star purchased Manhattan’s entire supply of calla lilies—allegedly totaling 42,000 flowers—for her highly anticipated wedding event with Travis Kelce. However, investigative reports confirmed that the rumor is completely false.
Well, if there had been a shortage, why not remedy that here?

Welcome To California’s Hidden Calla Lily Valley!
Yes, after a short walk along this Pacific Ocean path, you drop down to the ocean – where there is a small gulley full of wild Calla Lilies!
Here is the path that leads to a gorgeous beach on the Pacific Ocean:
And of course, when you get to the shore you look at a small creek emptying into the Pacific Ocean – and there are the wild Calla Lillies!

Of course, Taylor Swift would never desecrate this beautiful, serene area – this is a park where we can all wander along the trails and gaze upon nature showing off!

As you can see, some of these Calla Lilies were GIGANTIC – and there were hundreds surrounding the small creek that came down from the hills and emptied into the pacific ocean…

It really is a beautiful, serene getaway, and after you see the flowers, which grow free alongside the salty pacific ocean:

Once you are on the beach, you can see the ocean, sand, rocks, and of course, some enterprising visitors left an igloo made of driftwood as well:

This hidden valley of Calla Lilies is just a half hour south of Monterey, where this incredibly massive creature await!
Yes, the Octopus was checking us all out, but he wasn’t alone!

Incredible Jellyfish dance in the water, an unbelievably entertaining spectacle – check it out here:
We are at the world famous Monterey Aquarium – located on the town’s iconic Cannery Row!

This is one of the world greatest Aquairums – in a town that is beautiful bucolic and home to Cannery Row!
See more here:
After a day at the Aquarium, why not head to dinner here?

The Sardine Factory restaurant is iconic – so much so that Clint Eastwood filmed part of a movie here!
Se the film and the food here!

That hidden valley of lilies is really magical. I don’t associate them with Ms Swift though, rather the stunning photographs of the late Robert Mapplethorpe. Sahred on Twitter, John.
Best wishes, Pete.
