Time To Celebrate “Safari Babies!”
One of the coolest things on safari was seeing all of the baby wildlife, which showcases how many of the species are increasing in size – a great thing: check out this baby Hippo and the Mom!
Here are some of the fun encounters we had on our safari in South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe – it’s check-in to our lodge near the Linyanti River:

Little DumaTau is an intimate, four-suite luxury camp located in Botswana’s Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, overlooking the Osprey Lagoon. Situated between two busy elephant corridors, where we saw more Elephants than ever before – including two that photo bomb’d my wife Alex – and yes, that’s a hippo peering out of the water as well!

Here is some video of the Elephants crossing the Linyanti river while a Hippo keeps an eye on me:

Just another day at the beach!
We saw so many animals in their natural habitat, where we were the visitors, and we had to be quiet and respectful of their home:

When you come across a large herd of Elephants, it’s hard to follow all the action, but look at what I got!

I noticed a very small baby Elephant trying to nudge her Mom to her feet – and got it on video – check it out!
There were so many baby Elephants – and the Guides make sure we are at a respectful distance, because Mama Elephant doesn’t want you too close…and watch what happened when this adorable baby saw Mom was leaving – it’s video of her noisy reaction when Mom begins to wander off!
And remember I just shared our baby elephant encounter along the banks of the Zambezi river between Zimbabwe and Zambia!
See more of that adventure here:
When we were in the Kalahari desert of Botswana, we had this Baby Rhino encounter – out grazing with Mom:
See more of the incredible wildlife we came across in the Kalahari Desert – including these very thirsty birds – by clicking on my story here:
I also shared a scary interaction I had, when I accidentally began to walk right into the path of a feeding elephant – right outside my room!
Here I am on our walkway, and watch who showed up on the right:
My Guide told me I did the right thing – see the entire story here:
We came across every kind of animal, like these incredible wild dogs! Watch as they angle buy for a few seconds, then take off in a fast run – and we tried to keep up!
As usual, the animals run free and we are the guests!
I want to remind you that all of these animals are protected – click here for the conservation efforts underway here!

Thanks Pete…I have been making longer videos of the stories just for YouTube and have almost an hour so far…I will ultimately do a documentary for Alex to have of our trip…

Elephants are so unique, I would love to have been there when the first European came across one, assuming they had never heard any tales or seen drawings.

It was exciting to see so many baby animals…and to see how much is being done to protect them against poachers…thanks for the comment!
