Happy Oscar Sunday!
Yes, today is the day that the Academy Awards ceremony takes place in Hollywood California – and what better way to celebrate cinema than with a mouth full of “Oscar-Shaped Smoked Salmon And Caviar Toasts”?
I found a great interview with Chef Wolfgang Puck – who creates the menu for the Oscar Governors Ball after the show – and he discussed the menu for this year’s extravaganza!
Here’s what he has cooking this year that’s new!
How about Miyazaki Wagyu with wasabi potato puree and truffle ponzu!
“We always have some new things but people really like the tradition a lot,” the legendary chef told Los Angeles at the Oscars Governors Ball preview on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
“We have to make our chicken pot pie, for Prince Albert and Barbra Streisand in case she shows up, but many other people too. And then we have new dishes, like this year, we have the [Pad] Thai noodles, and we make them with ginger, garlic and a little Champagne,” he said as poured the alcohol into a sizzling stir-fry.

It seems that everyone has been photographed while eating – but I need someone to please tell me why Robert Plant has an ice cream cone AND a devilish look on his face!

There are a number of social media sites that focus on celebrities eating – and not just today! One site has a picture of President Kennedy, eating what they suggest is a hot dog at a ball game:

Can you hear me clapping and calling out ‘thank you’ for this post! Being a serious foodie from about age 4 you could not have posted anything more fun!!! And, of course, it is Monday morning here and we’ll have to not look at the TV during the day and watch the whole thingamajig when evening arrives . . , but this has to be sent to friends . . . and I did not think Puck was still around 🙂 !!!
